Hi Everyone
It has been 7 months since having my dual pace maker. I have frozen shoulder as a result from my last fall to the surgery. I did a lot of damage with no time to heal, hair line fracture to my sternum to severe whiplash and jaw injury to name just a few.
Please don't get me wrong l am grateful, but l feeling so down. I can not lift nor even reach for something for l can not put my arm out straight. Been to many Doctors and they all say the same thing, frozen shoulder and you'll have to wait it out. I do physiotherapy when l can afford it, for insurance ran out. Can anyone please tell me if they have experienced this. how long did it last? How did you cope? I am not doing well, I am getting more depressed as the days go by.
I am not working, for l drove for a living and they will not take me back till my arm is better. Can't blame them. Even my Doctor say's no driving for it's not safe for me or others and l get that. I would like to hear from others who have suffered this for lam not doing so great right now. I do get out here and there but am limited to what l can do. Riding season will start soon and l do not want to miss another season of not being able to ride my motor bike. I am now waiting to see another specialist. Any advise from someone who has experience this would be great.

I also have not had frozen shoulder but I did have a hip replacement last March. With home physical therapy in the beginning and then going to rehab 3X a week, there was always "homework" to do. They sent me home with a few therapy bands and I used them too. Then gave it to my Son when he was able to exercise after knee surgery and he did all the homework exercises as well. He's back to playing sports at college.
Some of the movements were not easy at first, some can hurt but then when you see your improvements from a few days prior.....that's success!
Like Jerry said, you should know what to do now. Since you can't work or do much right now anyway, get moving on the exercises. You will feel better physically and as you see your movements improve, your mood will lighten too. It's been a long, cold winter and that hasn't helped.
Move it or lose it....as they say. With a name like sportygirl......you got this!

I've had it

No fun having FS. I had it a few years ago pre PM. It took several months to get over and quite a lot of physio plus some ultrasonics to the area. Driving was a bitch as I had to lift my arm up onto the steering wheel.
The best thing is to keep going with physio, otherwise it will not improve. Keep up with the exercises that you learnt at physio sessions. I just saw my physiotherapist once every 2 weeks but kept to the programme he gave me and eventually it eased and finally had full recovery. Every spare minute I would go through the simple routines I'd been taught. Even now if I think it might be coming back I restart the sessions for a week or so. Best of luck. John

Add me to your club please! I am suffering with this nasty condition since my procedure in October.
I am doing exercises and therapy. It helps, but I am still in pain. It does give you depressed and anxiety. I refuse to go on meds so I am doing camamile tea for the anxiety, St. John's Wort supplements for the blue moods and for the pain in the shoulder I use a combination of products: icy/hot patches for now. I also push myself into 2 hot yoga classes per week. I also am going to try a new product that is a topical oil so I will let you know how that works out for me.
I am very upset it takes this long to heal a shoulder and why no one told me this could happen. I am only 43yrs old and have 2 kids to care for and its a daily struggle, I am glad to have this websit to vent and help others!
If anyone else has any solutions or cures for this shoulder please let us all know!

Therapy at home

I haven't had a frozen shoulder but I did have shoulder Impingement, lots of pain and restricted movement. I also had to got to rehab for lots of other problems, surgeries, knees, heel, foot, hand etc.
It all takes time but the most important thing about rehab is not going to the therapist, it's what you do at home.
Since you have gone to a therapist you should know most of the exercises you need to do. You can also find a lot of exercises on line and on youtube. When you see a therapist that is only 2 or 3 times a week. You need to do the therapy at home 3 times a day 7 days a week.
Most of all don't get depressed and sit around and do nothing. Get to work at home and you will see results.
