venoplasty and pm lead

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with having balloon venoplasty or angioplasty with PM leads in same site? If so I would be very grateful to hear all.
I have problems with subclavian that aren't rectifiable by alternative means and highly symptomatic.

Also, must i have blood thinners after balloon dilatation? Docs here don't like talking with others and I ain't gonna get any answers elsewhere soon! Scared if the balloon can cause damage to the lead n vessel?

'bare' all as it were and I did feel like it was a bit demanding, although I realise that it is not perhaps meant to be; and how we read and write can be interpreted by different people in a range of ways...

So I will give a little, but not all....I am not hiding, but have always kept things close and share little so I do not trust even supposed anonymously.

Dr's don't like talking to others simply refers to the fact that Dr's have competitive streaks at times. Additionally some have too much pride. Communication is usually what suffers.

As to where...I do not understand how that can impact on advice as it is not geographical??


All I am eager to learn is whether any one here has had the misfortune of vein problems where their wire(s) are? Have they had a balloonoplasty or whatever ti is called at the site of a problem in the same bit of the wire? I am concerned my wire can move - atrial. Already had more than 1 wire due to movement and I sure would love to avoid another....

Does that help? I don't mean to be vague or sound abrupt, but I am new to all this and prefer the old adage of less can be more sometimes...

For your reply. It sure is good to hear from someone who understands where I am at but I am deeply sorry for you with your troubles that are ongoing. I have atrial lead too that can't be taken. I guess that means it could come back to if yours has. I won't be on drugs from my understanding but I guess I could likely be wrong? I have to get arm fixed though.

How is the wire and box placed? Sounds more than normal op for the pm but I know little about these things. I sure do hope you find answers andare ffixed properly without problems. Id sure be interested to hear from you and how you are? Thx

I may have a similar situation to you.. my pacer leads caused a blockage of my SVC/brachiocephalic vein 2 years ago.. I was treated by removing the atrial lead (it was found my pacer would function perfectly with only the ventricular lead) and then the vessels were ballooned. I was not placed on any medication afterwards. However, I am again in the same situation. My innominate vein is 100% occluded right now and is symptomatic. A decision as to treatment has not been made yet, but I know the most probable option is having my pacer removed and reimplanted via an epicardial approach (leads are attached directly to the outer layer of the heart as opposed to going through vessels). The ballooning procedure worked for a while and caused no further damage. I hope it works for you!
