Protruding PM

I got my CRT-D last July and by Sept it never settled into its pocket like I thought it should. It was sticking out a lot and was very sore to touch. I thought it would break through the skin and pop out at time. I spoke both to my cardiologist and my ED and they both agreed that I would benefit from a repositioning of the device. This past January I went back and had the device relocated under the muscle and its like night and day. It don't stick out anymore and the chest is smooth to touch. The recuperation period was less than the initial operation. I soooo glad I did it. I would recommend it if you are having problems with your device not laying properly. Being a female I can still wear my summer clothes without feeling self-conscience about the device and its scar. This is my humble opinion and I hope it helps. Good Luck.

Thanks

Thanks NYC, in glad your device is now hidden & causing discomfort, it does seem silly putting up with it if its sticking out etc etc, in glad u say the re-positioning is not as bad as the initial op, thanks for your understanding feedback. Take Care. Kat

Hi.
Im sorry to hear your device causes you shoulder pain etc etc, it is a pain i know and of course i am greatful of my device and realise it keeps me alive, it was actually my doctor that was amazed it stuck out so much and is concerned it has migrated also quite concerned about the nasty looking wound/scar, so i guess when the doctor seems concerned this in return makes me very concerned.
Anxiety is a terrible thing and i guess everyone who suffers deals with it different due to there personal feelings etc.
I really hope like you say in the nx few years PM s will have improved yet again making things even better for people like you and i.
Thanks again for your message. Take Care
Kat.
