discomfort after pacemaker surgery

I got a pacemaker due to heart block in Nov 2013. Heart test are all normal. I had pain in heart area when lying or bending(post surgery)... discomfort kind of pushes up to throat ..also some pain on deep inspiration. Did lead revisions 3 wks ago.
Apparently going thru all same symptoms again. The revisions did not help symptoms, but I am hopeful with time will improve.
Anyone ever experience anything like this? I am a small person.
Thanks!

Never stop worrying

Thanks everyone for responding to my message doubting my decision to get a pm. Haha...like there was really any choice. I am relieved that I won't hurt myself or anyone else. Once I realized I was in danger, I felt uncomfortable doing anything..I was so worried. now I barely think about my pm. So...I guess it's my new reality.

I know this sounds ridiculous but being so young, 51, I wonder if I am going to have issues with scarring in my veins..since the pm is going to be with me...

Concerns about post-op pain and discomfort

Hi folks,

Just reaching out to see if anyone can relate to or offer support with something I'm experiencing with my most recent pacer replacement.

Has anyone experienced pain/discomfort with body movement due to the size of their pacer? Specifically with the pacer rubbing/jutting into ribs and collarbone or having to "reach around it?" Has anyone been able to get their pacer replaced for these reasons?

I am eight days post-op from getting my third pacer implanted...

pacing ceases. med leads//BS generator

Hi
I am a new member and am an endurance athlete. My pacemaker ceases pacing (and i fall into my junctional rhythm) after 20-25 minutes of moderate exercise. I have medtronic MRI safe 5086 leads with a Boston Scientific Ingenio 173 generator.

Anyone else with a similar experience?
Anyone heard of a reasonable explanation for this occurence?

thanks, Aspen

Need opinions and experience adv

Hi All

I'm Kala, I've registered here for my mum actually... Dad has passed away 30 years ago and she is the sole breadwinner in the family, taking care of 4 of my siblings.. It's been a tough order for a 32 year old women, with no working experience at all to take care of us, but she did a remarkable work raising us.. We all are in good positions in life now, because of her.. So I would want to have the best for her now..

She is 61 now and had an EF (Ejection Fraction) of...

pacemaker S606

I am a 64 year old male, was a vigorous tennis player, no health problems except bradychardia (HR 40). First pacemaker in 2001 at age 52. Now my 3rd pacemeker S606 put in June 2012. Since then, when I try to play, even at the first point running up and down, I get serious shortness of breath/chest tightness, and I can't run. Wait a few minutes, I am fine. No wheezing. Several settings were tried, no change. Setting is at 60, Holter monitor with event monitor was done, normal findings, Stress Ech...

Goodevening people;

Just wondering if any one who has a biontronic dual lead pacer has had any issues re complications with meds after a while.
I had my op in Feb 2013 and at first had some issues with settings etc and fast beats but after seeing my cardiologist a few months ago who has me now on a low dose of digoxin, I think 65mg) little blue tablets which I take two of each day along with cartia to help stop clots possibilities.

Over the last 2-3 weeks have been get...

Electrical Interference

Does anyone else suspect they are getting interference from a nearby microwave repeater station/transmitter? Every night except Sundays, between 7pm and 7.30pm, I experience a sensation that feels like a palpitation, but don't generally have them since getting my PM. It's always about 7.15 to 7.20pm - so too regular to be me. We have a transmitter tower atop a university building about 2 blocks away and in line-of-sight to our house. My StJude PM is wifi enabled, but the Merlin does not...

lead #2 of my icd device not working

I am posting this information so that maybe it will save another needless pain and suffering .I had my ICD device implanted while on a 3 day vacation to Jekyl island near Brunswick ,Ga.
I was taken to the emergency room at local hospital due to my rapid heartbeat 225 beats per minute .After they shocked me successfully to get my heart back to a normal rhythm .this was done very easily and quickly .It was then recommended that I have an ICD device implanted in my chest before I returned...

NEWS ARTICLE FOUND ON SHOULDER/NECK PAIN AFTER PM

For anyone getting a Pacemaker here is an article I found! Why don't the doctors have a plan in place for PT after the PM procedure so this does not happen to people (LIKE ME)! I am in PT now and hopefully it will relieve my pain! If anyone has any other news to share, please do!

The number of pacemaker implants done per year now exceeds 1.5 million done around the world.
They are currently mostly implanted subcutaneously in the subclavicular fossa using transvenous leads.<...

Palpitations and missed beats post implant

Hi. I am new, having just found the site while googling my situation last night. Here's my story. I had progressively worse a-fib starting in 2005, that led to 2 ablations, numerous meds and a mini-maze surgery by early 2007. All unsuccessful. I had a 3rd ablation in August 2007 that also failed. During this time frame I was cardioverted, by my wife's count, 24 times. By September 2007 my EF was down to 30, and I submitted to the ablating of the A V node and implant of a bi-ventricular pm...

Severe Discomfort after 6 weeks

I had my pacemaker/ICD implanted in February. The pain has mostly gone, but there is a lot of discomfort above the implant, and it feels like there is something under the skin that is not present on the right in the same region. The area feels similar to what a large tendon would feel like. Is this usual? Whatever it is, it is extremely uncomfortable.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks to all for earlier replies about balloon procedures in veins with pacemaker lead. My question is whether anyone who has had a clot come back, if you got symptoms like needing more sleep in day or aching in clavicle neck arm area? I know i still got some chronic clot but aching pain getting worse and so is my fatigue. I am not taking coumadin or other meds and the center I am at don't seem concerned. Id surely like to hear from people who have had clots and problems with pm's! Head fee...

Pregnancy and pacemaker

Hi all,
I am 31 years old and had my PM 3 years ago. I am currently 31 weeks pregnannt and my pregnancy has been going really good with no issues at all. I was wondering if anyone had been pregnant with a PM and did it cause any issues during delivery. My ob and cardiologist dont think I should have any issues, but they wanted me to get a consult with the anesthesia deparment where I am giving birth (I am guessing that's because the epidural lowers bp).

thanks.

Symptoms/Cardiac or what

My first time on. Seems like some good folks who care about other people having problems that sometimes doctors do not understand. Got a heart attack in August 2012 and three stents a few months later. Just got my pacemaker on October 2012. Have had three monitoring sessions to check on my heart rate and the results show that my heart had been skipping for up to 12 seconds. Last week I had my pace maker adjusted from 50 beats per minute to 55 beats per minute because my heart was still skipping...

Pacemakers and Airboats

My 16year old daughter received her first PM at age 5 due to a dx of Complete Heart Block. She received her second, dual chamber PM at 13, doing wonderfully! She is currently on a marine biology trip in the Florida Keys and in a few days will have the opportunity of taking a ride on an airboat in the Everglades. Her father is worried that she'll be too close to the motor of the boat and it will somehow affect her pacer. My main concern is her falling off the boat, as I don't worry about the p...

Pacemaker is migrating to underarm area!

Hello,
I have not posted in a long time because everything has been going well. Glad to hear many of you are doing well, but sorry for those who are having complications.
I had my second pacemaker implanted 12/10. It was done by a different dr, and I swear this must have been his first implant! It was very swollen and uncomfortable for several weeks. It finally seemed to settle in but never seemed "right." About a year ago it noticeably started to migrate toward the underarm area....
