Pacemakers and Airboats

My 16year old daughter received her first PM at age 5 due to a dx of Complete Heart Block. She received her second, dual chamber PM at 13, doing wonderfully! She is currently on a marine biology trip in the Florida Keys and in a few days will have the opportunity of taking a ride on an airboat in the Everglades. Her father is worried that she'll be too close to the motor of the boat and it will somehow affect her pacer. My main concern is her falling off the boat, as I don't worry about the pacer at all. Just so you know, we are no longer married. All kidding aside, I wanted to get some insight from those of you that may know a thing or two about airboats and pacemakers. Thanks in advance!

Worry about the alligators

Got the phone call from my son, "Daaaaad". The long 'a' means he's got a problems and needs my help. Favorite daughter-in-law's car won't start. Ran down and jump started the car.

Was leaning over both engines while they were running. No effect. Zilch, nada, nothing. And I was leaning over the engines.

So tell her father she's more likely to fall off and have problems with alligators than a problem with the engine.

I live in South Florida and have done airboats several times, no problems whatsoever. The motor will not affect the pm. I have chaperoned more than one school trip, we've never had a kid fall off. Earplugs are the most important part of an airboat ride! Those suckers are LOUD. She is going to see some really great stuff, the Everglades are so beautiful and very different from anything she's probably seen before.
