I have a CRT-D which was implanted 12/02/2013 on the left ventrical. It works great, fantastic blood flow and i can breath again. My energy has come back and i feel like a new person.
Concidering i had open heart in 1996, I feel blessed.
I am a 67 year old male in extremely good physical condition.
My question is. Has anyone experianced any body changes?
The left side of my body, especially my leg is bigger than my right. Calf and ankle area mostly.
I'm scheduled to see my cardioligist and will inquire then but am curious if anyone else has seen or heard of this side effect.
Thanks

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.

I have no real idea why your left leg is bigger, but I can tell you why one of my legs was starting to have bigger muscles than the other side. This sounds crazy but it is true. I am a 75 yr. old woman who walks a lot -- on small streets with a higher center than the edges (small town, amateurish paving). I was always walking on the same side of the road, so that over months the leg nearest the lower edge wasn't striking as hard as the leg nearer the higher center. My massage person at the gym discovered this. I started walking on the other side of the street and accentuated the striking of the smaller leg. Over several months the muscles evened out. I hope your discovery is more interesting and complicated. :p
