Just wondering if any one who has a biontronic dual lead pacer has had any issues re complications with meds after a while.
I had my op in Feb 2013 and at first had some issues with settings etc and fast beats but after seeing my cardiologist a few months ago who has me now on a low dose of digoxin, I think 65mg) little blue tablets which I take two of each day along with cartia to help stop clots possibilities.

Over the last 2-3 weeks have been getting a little dizzy at times, not enough to fall over but is starting to give me some thoughts as to long term use maybe of this medication and if it maybe affecting my BP?..I know he tried to explain to me in terms I understand that my pacer stops my heart going to slow and the digoxin stops it going to fast as I have fast and slow AF I understand, well sort of anyway..... he assured me all would be ok as my pacer would not let my heart go to slow re settings but am wondering about BP now, seem to be ok most of time but when it happens albeit breifly it is starting to concern me, thanks for any input guys and appreciate any feed back if anyone else has had this problem. thank you all, johnb

Digoxin does lower BP

Digoxin definitely tends to lower your BP. I took it for tachycardia, before an ablation which resulted in my PM. I already tend to have a slightly low BP, so the digoxin made me feel really tired. It can be a juggling act to get the dosage right, where it's not affecting your BP too much, but still lowering your heart rate. I would make sure you tell your doctor what you're feeling and seeing if it can be adjusted.

Meds and their side effects are unrelated to pacing. The pm will help when your heart goes too slowly, the meds will prevent it from going too quickly and they can also help it beat more efficiently. Sometimes the meds,while making the heart beat more efficiently, also make it too slow. The pm counters that by kicking in and increasing our hr.

If you have new symptoms, call your dr and ask to be seen again. I don't know if digoxin affects bp but a lot of heart meds do. I'm on atenolol, which is a beta blocker, to slow down racing. It took us a few tries to find a med that worked for me, then to find the dosage that slowed my heart down enough, but didn't drop my bp too much.
