Violent heart throbs when crouching down

2nd opinion and disappointed

Hi all, 

Went to a 2nd EP for another opinion.  The answer I got was "settings are right out of the box, in the middle. I don't want to change anything.  Your heart needs to get used to pacing."  By the way, what is meant by that?  You're heart needs to get used to pacing??

Heart rate remaining high after walk will not drop below exactly 100bpm

Hi all I hope you are all well, I've just got back from a walk and my heart rate will not drop below 100 BPM. I suppose it feels like palpations if I was to describe the sensation.

I've had no caffeine and I normally rest at 60bpm (lower but my pacemaker is limited at the moment as I've not had my first check up)

Any idea if it could be something not working correctly with the pacemaker?

It's very strange it is pacing /beating at exactly nothing less then 100...

Nervous of ramifications

Hello Everyone, I am a reluctant new member to this club. I am due to receive a Pacemaker for Christmas, on 23rd Dec, and am trying to get my head around the change to come. I am 69 and have always been very fit, a regular gym goer for 35 years and runner. Apart from Sick Sinus and AFib arriving earlier this year I am otherwise healthy. Now I am worried that I will be opening a can of worms by having a PM. Will I ever be able to attain my previous existing weight training and aerobic ability?...

Hi everyone so I had a check up with the EP today and he said that my heart depends on the pacemaker by 2% and 98% is my heart working I just don't get it what's the point of having it then?

Hi everyone,
Just got my pacemaker 2 days ago. I was terrified when the doctor said I need to have one and I'm very uncertain about how to live with it. I used  to exercise a lot, hitting the gym at least 3 times a week. I love the outdoors and used to go hiking and camping. I wonder if I ever will get to do those activities again. So glad to have found this group.

New to all of this and overwhelmed

Hi everyone,

I got my PM implanted 2 days ago. In October I had to have open heart surgery for aortic valve replacement. I developed 3rd degree heart block in the hospital but it resolved and I was discharged with no issues. However, last week I started experiencing SOB, fatigue and very low HR. Turns out the heart block came back and the only solution was the PM. Doctors really had no answer as to why it would go away for 5 weeks and then come back and apparently it's pretty rare w...

Local anesthetic for replacement

Is it necessary to be "put under" for a pacemaker replacement?  Will a local anesthesia be sufficient  Due to unusual circumstances I will not have anyone available to pick me up. I'm hoping to drive myself home. This will be my third pacemaker

Riding Bikes, cold and blue lips

Hello,

I have been doing very well, riding my mountain bike without much trouble, even as it has gotten much colder. However, over the last few weeks, I have noticed that at the end of my ride my lips would turn blue, I have no other symptoms associated with the blue lips.  Tomorrow, I will get my covid test and will be calling my doc on Monday. Has anyone else had this?

PM for an 86 y,o?

So this is to all The Medtronic pacers.  I'm not fully understanding the transmission part.  I have a Medtronic azure and have sent in Manual transmissions.   But upon reading about it ..I'm confused.   Does it also send a report without me knowing (which is totally fine) or is the only time is when i send it out?  I am due to go to the pacemaker clinic on Tuesday and will be asking them a bunch of questions I'm not understanding.... but was hopi...

statin rx after pacemaker implant

Before the pacemaker implant, I had good  cholersterol readings, was not on any prescription. After the implant, my cardiologist automatically prescribed a statin drug.

I did not understand the logic and asked my primary doctor if I could stop taking the statin. He advised me not to do it.

I'm still not convinced and am thinking of doing it any way.

Iv'e changed my life syle of eating habits and have tranformed my body. any one else faced with this delema?

Breast augmentation

So I'm getting breast augmentation surgery in a few weeks (i've already been cleared by my EP), but I was wondering if anyone here might have gotten subpectoral breast implants while having the pm subcutaneous. Why do we have SA node pacing if the issue is only with heart block?

Hi 

If we have a heart block what is the reason for needing to also be paced from the atrial lead?

I see that some of our members on here have sinus node issues as well as certain blocks so I assume in that situation both of the electrical messages are managed.

In others I see that they have only conduction problems from the SA node and the ventricles are paced. If the ventricles are paced in this situation does this not automatically restore the heart/paced rate t...
