Have been having one little problem. I felt off last week ? why.
Phone call from hosp to get there straight away.Apparently monitor had picked up low pulse rate and instead of rectifying it
nothing.had been changed.
Easily adjusted but I but wondered what would happen if I was away from home and this happened again.
I am paced from 60 upto 180.
I have now become a bit nervous about going away over Christmass.
Could it affect my driving?
Thanks to all .

I received a pacemaker July of this year, all has been well until I became sustained bradycardic a few days ago, very symptomatic while at the ER.
My pacemaker should correct the bradycardia, right?
Anyone else experience this?

I had my two way pacemaker put in one month ago today. I have had very sharp pains in the last two weeks directly over and or in the pacemaker area. The pace guy did the over the shoulder test and said all was O.K. except three nights ago at 10:15 pm my pulse went to 162 just before the ambulance came to take me to ER.
The cardiologist who put the pacemaker in said the pains are normal in the beginning but my regular cardiologist disagrees.
I feel like hell most of the day and t...

Hi All,
My pacemaker was inserted on my right side instead of left, as I have persistent left superior vena cava, in June of 2013. Within the last 6 months or so, my right arm has been swelling and achy. Initially I had an ultrasound that was negative, however, I was put on blood thinners for 3 months anyway. This has recently occurred again. Again, I had a negative ultrasound and negative CT angiogram, so I've been told blood clots are officially ruled out, although I had d-dimer...

I've had a pacemaker since I was 4 years old and have had the box and leads changed multiple times. I'm now 25 and will be going for a box change in a few months.
Since having this latest one implanted 4 years ago, I've had problems with my chest thumping like mad as if I've just been sprinting from an axe murderer, when in fact I've just brushed my teeth; then all of a sudden my heart will beat as it should and I won't be able to feel it.
Does anyone else get this? I als...

Hello. I am a new member and my husband is the one with the pacemaker. Very brief history: Husband is 62 - works ft fairly good health aside from health issues. Heart issues in family. he has non ischemic cardiomyopathy. small anuerym being monitored. . history of PVC's appx 30%. had ablation in 2009 but PVCs returned. Ablation suggested as ejection fraction is around 33-35% and thought was this could improve it. Went to Cleveland clinic in September for another one. at some point conductivity...

Hi all,
I posted last week because I had chest pain and breathing problems - the PM clinic had refused to see me to check my settings as they said they were OK and I needed to see my GP.
In my primary care trust in the UK you are discharged by cardiology as soon as your settings seem OK - in my case, 6 months and one appointment after insertion.
Well, I've localised the pain to the area where the leads are attached to the heart - and the vein where the leads are...

My pacemaker is supposed to keep my heart from beating at less than 60 bmp. But I have atrial fibrillation and if I check my pulse I get pauses in my heartbeats. Does that mean my heart is not responding to the electric pulses it is getting from my pacemaker. I have asked this question when my pacemaker was checked, but found the answer too vague and unconvincing--basically, don't worry about it.

I have a pacer-sinus node problem. I have been having issues with breathing for about 6 months. Went to doctor five different times. Interrogated my pacer and tech found that something was turned off. She turned it back on and now seems my oxygen level is back but not up to par.
Could someone tell me what they did turn back on. I no that she said my level was staying at 60 and we went for little walk after ward and it went from 60 to 87. Think it had to do with blood and oxygen but...

Hi Y'all,
I've been having a pounding, irregular heartbeat on and off for 25 hours now. I am dizzy, a little nauseous, at times. At times my heart pounds so hard my body moves with it. But it skips beats, and races up to 130 BPM. I'm paced up to 130. I called my cardiologist this morning after a restless night. He asked me to do my CareLink over the phone and called me back to say I've been fluttering and with periods of a-fib since yesterday afternoon. He told me I could wait it ou...

After implantation of BiV/ICD for LBBB and EF of 30 for Idiopathic cardiomyopathy, I developed twitching just under my left breast on day 5 after surgery. Its worse when I lay on my left side, cough or belch, or get a rise in heart rate suddenly. I went to device clinic and out of 17 possible setting on my third lead, none keot the twitching away. I know the lead was very close to the phrenic nerve but there was no abnormal stim during surgery or right after.Has anyone had this and what options...

Hi. I had a pacemaker installed three years ago because every two or three months my heart rate would slow down to the point I would faint. This would happen every couple of hours for two days and then everything would be normal for a couple of months and then it would happen again.
Since I have had my pacemaker installed I am basically on the same schedule. Every 8 to 10 weeks my heart rate slows down
to 60 bpm and the pacemaker kicks in and I do not faint. This happens every two hour...

Hello, I am a new member. I am 60 years old, female and until recently active and healthy. I was born with a heart defect (ASD) and successfully operated 56 years ago in Düsseldorf. I work internationally and live in Italy. In late July, on a flight from Ghana I fainted for the first time. I had several fainting spells in September and finally saw my cardiologist in October, who diagnosed an AV Block II grade (Wenckebach) with 3 minute pause at night. This came as a real shock especially be...

Should I be concerned because I just recently got over food poisoning which caused a lot of vomiting and after that episode when I lay on the same side the pacemaker is on I feel some intense pounding. It sort of feels like a muscle spasm but it feels very close to my heart. Has anyone had similar symptoms? Can vomiting cause a problem with my leads?

I had ICD implanted on 9/2/14. Prior to I was extremely athletic and I'm in cardiac rehab now and I'm recovering very slowly. This morning around 10 am I did about ten push ups. I felt fine doing them. About five minutes later I could feel sharp pain in my chest. It was very strange like I could feel the pain traveling within my chest. It hurts constantly and the most when I inhale, especially when I take a deep breath. It's 5 pm now and I feel no relief. My guess is I pulled a muscle in my ches...
