I had my two way pacemaker put in one month ago today. I have had very sharp pains in the last two weeks directly over and or in the pacemaker area. The pace guy did the over the shoulder test and said all was O.K. except three nights ago at 10:15 pm my pulse went to 162 just before the ambulance came to take me to ER.
The cardiologist who put the pacemaker in said the pains are normal in the beginning but my regular cardiologist disagrees.
I feel like hell most of the day and the pacemaker feels like it weighs 100 lbs. Any one have any experience with the sharp pains and other things I just mentioned? Thanks!

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.

Not sure if this is what you are feeling but does it feel like sharp "ant bites" or a needle stick? They really hurt but come and go.
If so, that is most likely your nerves knitting back together after being cut....right around the scar and PM area.
The PM does feel heavy in the beginning. Picture taping a heavy paper weight to one side of your chest....you're gonna notice it but after a while, your body will adapt.
Hope this helps in some way.
