pulse rate

hi all I had my pm interrogated yesterday and las night my pulse suddenly shot up to 179 was very scared as this has never happened before x

If you got up to 179, that was all you, not the pacer. The pm will add beats when we go too slowly. When we go fast, all it can do is watch. Had you had too much caffeine or something like that? Do you have a history of afib?

And how did you manually count 179? If it was a machine, we can't always trust them to be accurate so always count manually. Sometimes monitors will pick up the pacing spikes as well as the beats so it shows a much higher count than what it really is.

Yep was just a device check I don't drive now and haven't got back to work as I keep getting terrible pain not all time consultant said things were Ok at last check up cholesterol etc but I get a burning pain at the site but my pulse has setlled at the moment x
