Sick Stomach

Hi. I had a pacemaker installed three years ago because every two or three months my heart rate would slow down to the point I would faint. This would happen every couple of hours for two days and then everything would be normal for a couple of months and then it would happen again.
Since I have had my pacemaker installed I am basically on the same schedule. Every 8 to 10 weeks my heart rate slows down
to 60 bpm and the pacemaker kicks in and I do not faint. This happens every two hours or so for two days.
My problem is that when this happens I feel that I am about to faint and feel very sick in my stomach. This sick feeling in my stomach last for the two days my heart rate slows down and persists for another two or three days.
Is this normal and has anyone else experienced similar discomfort.

What medication?

What medication are you taking, if any? Some heart medications can cause nausea. Medications that are OK for me may give you problems.

Have you discussed your situation with your EP / cardiologist? I'm thinking they can give you medication for the nausea.

Hope they can get something for you soon.

You have at least a touch of NCS (Neurocardiogenic Syncope) like I do. I call days like you describe my "bottom dwelling" days because my HR is at minimum, my BP is low and I feel like junk.

Sometimes I get the nausea, my doc described it as "when your pump is not performing optimally the other systems don't get the support they need and start acting up." So just know that on days like that, your GI system is not in balance because it is not receiving what it needs from your circulatory system.

I usually just deal with it and stick to a blandish diet for a few days.

If it's overly bothersome or persistent I would get it checked out though.

I read your problem and this happened to me for a year after the implant. Sometimes driving with my husband to a dinner or home from an appointment I would sweat profusely, palpitations, syncope but not totally passing out, and feeling like I am going throw up from stomach sickness and chest pain, being short of breath and being very dizzy. My BP would drop and I felt very hopeless, esp when my EP would say "I hope this didn't make you worse off!" Eventually I just did what I could to get meds to help the symptoms, like xanax, Zofran, Meclizine, pretzels with salt (I have low sodium too) and deep breathing and praying. It's hard. I hope yours goes away, but if it doesn't see if you can get some symptom relief to help you. Today my nurse asked me what my symptoms are because I ran out of Xanax, and my mind went blank. I was like "what???" These symptoms are hard for me, I hate talking about it, and I am living WITH the hell so it's hard to just lay it out there! stomach hurt, dizzy

Hi Everyone
I take care of my mother. She has a pacemaker with a defibrillator. It was this year in March that it was implanted.. recently she has been getting more dizzy (she always has had dizziness because she had a stroke several years back) and her stomach hurts/sick to her stomach.. I was thinking it was her medications but now I see there are others that have this problem and it's related to her pacemaker! It seems to be getting worse.. what could the dr. do/ give to alleviate these symptoms? This is very worrisome. Thanks for your advise and help!
