Hi all and happy Easter! Just had pacemaker (two leads) installed two weeks ago today and wondering why I'm having what I think are serious episodes of coughing when I stand up and move around a bit and sometimes it's coupled with extreme lightheadedness. It all comes and goes. Saturday was a very difficult day for me all day with the above symptoms, Sunday was a super great day. Didn't cough almost all day and felt normal. Then today I woke up feeling nauseous, lightheaded and back to the...

Im a 49 yo male. Im getting a CRT-Defib installed on April 7th. This all came out of no where when i went to Dr about my arm that i hurt working out. they talked me into a physical and then said my ekg didnt look right and sent me cardiologist. My EF cam back at 29% after an echo. they did a heart cath but said my arteries are clean. Since my pacemaker surgery last April, I have fainted twice with the device and been having complications such as severe sharp stabbing pain at the site, and dizziness. My family and i have been struggling to find out what is the issue. Here i am thinking i can move on with my life a 23 year old senior in college trying to graduate and improve my quality of life. My electro cardiologist had no answers for me, so we decided to spend a week at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. For anyone experiencing pain...

Just had a very successful ablation for exercise induced VT last Tuesday. Doc was able to induce the VT on the table and than ablate. I have an ICD and prior to the ablation was on 80 mg of Sotalol which made me feel terrible and made exercise difficult. I am 40 and felt like I was 80! So I found a specialist who was able to help me. I am on a very low dose of Nadalol (20mg) for the next 5 weeks while my heart heals. Then I will have a stress test without the Nadalol and hopefully come off...

I have a question. I am to get this Pacemaker soon, as I have bradycardia and many long pauses between beats. (lowest pulse during the day a few days ago was 24, via a Holter reading).
Do you recommend wearing a medic alert bracelet and do you need to identify the brand and type of pacemaker on the medic alert tag? Thank you Kathleen

Good evening. I am Kathleen, and I am scheduled for an echocardiogram on Thurs, and a pacemaker soon after.
I have been feeling lousy. I also have arthritis, (inflammatory) and was scheduled for foot surgery as I have a torn tendon, but that is on hold because of my heart issues. I have had a lot of periods of pauses, 2.5 seconds, and my heart dipped to 24 a few days ago, during the afternoon when I was up and around. I felt like heck, I'll tell you. Out of breath, etc, dizzy, faint,...

Hello, my 75 year old father is having pacemaker upgrade surgery tomorrow. I see that when he first had his pacemaker placed it was a 2 hour surgery, tomorrow it is scheduled for 3 hours. I am wondering if there is a greater risk to having upgrade surgery? I just lost my brother unexpectedly and have found that I have become very fearful. Thank you- SA

Hello everyone,
So next week I have my S-ICD implanted and I'm a little nervous because I don't like needles and the fact that I'm going to be cut. So when you have the surgery did anyone feel a lot of pain? How long was recovery? And how long do you stay in the hospital?
Any insights would be great.

Hello,
I am new to the club and hoping for some info that will help calm my nerves a little. I am 59 years old, and will be receiving my PM this Friday. I have had a lot of the anxiety and apprehension that I have read about from other folks. I have been diagnosed with bradycardia. I am wanting to know from some of you on what to expect in the first 6 to 8 weeks. What general symptoms, good or bad. I am still trying to come to grips with this, and like many, probably not dealing with...

Are there any people around my age that have some type of equipment for their HEART or in it ? I started having Vtach episodes and passing out when I would go into VTACH so my cardiologist diagnosed me with prolonged qt syndrome cause still unknown. We're currently waiting on genetic test results. I just had a dual lead defibrillator pacemaker combo put in 7days ago. I was just wondering if any other younger bionic hearts are on this forum. I look forward to talking with everyone on Here.

I have been using a dual chamber pacer for 15 years. Recently my doc believes I would benefit going to a Bi Ventricle 3 lead pacer. I had surgery yesterday and he was unable to insert the third lead due to only one area open. Other veins are apparently damaged when I had open heart surgery back in 1998 with a valve replacement. So now I have my third pacer and still no Bi Ventricle pacing. Current doc admits that he does not have the skill to insert in the correct place due to my unique anatomy...

I had a dual chamber pacemaker and difib implanted yesterday. I'm feeling great on my incision spot but I keep getting this fluttering feeling in my chest. Is that normal? It doesn't hurt but raises my anxiety which probably doesn't help.
I am so terrified of getting an internal shock after having so many external in the hospital.
I don't want to call my doc all the time for nothing but it's making me uncomfortable.
Thank you.

Hi guys,
I was hoping anyone has suggestions or advice for me. I just found out that I have a complete heart block which is congenital. I have visited the cardiologist, and although I am asymptomatic he recommends I get a PM put in just in case I do start showing symptoms or in the advent of complete heart failure.
This condition has never really affected my life, it was a fluke that I discovered it too. I am 29 years old and feel like getting a PM, at this age especially s...

I was wondering if it is ok for my pace maker to be moving around while I bend over and/or turn over, while in bed. Also, while the pacer is moving about, can that cause the leads to disconnect? I am new at this, since February 2016 and quite worried and concerned! So if someone can get back to me, a.s.a.p., I would greatly appreciate it, since my post doctor appointment is not for another six weeks, I believe!!!!!

I can't imagine myself in this situation, I am extremely nervous about my PM implantation in about a week. Apparently I have a 3rd degree HB, and asymptomatic Brady. I feel my life is never gonna be the same. I want to cry but can't seem to find time in between the nervousness. I feel like I'm broken. Is that normal? I feel like I'm not going to be me. Obviously I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the reality of its finality. My denial helped me a lot until it had to pat me on the back...
