Are there any people around my age that have some type of equipment for their HEART or in it ? I started having Vtach episodes and passing out when I would go into VTACH so my cardiologist diagnosed me with prolonged qt syndrome cause still unknown. We're currently waiting on genetic test results. I just had a dual lead defibrillator pacemaker combo put in 7days ago. I was just wondering if any other younger bionic hearts are on this forum. I look forward to talking with everyone on Here.

I'm 25 and had a dual lead pacemaker put in about a month ago. I hope you are feeling well after the surgery-you should be back to (better than) normal in no time!

32 when I received my pm

Hi, I was 32 when I received my PM. My boys were only 2 & 4 at the time. I will say I had a bit if depression right after I received it, I think because it was such a shock. It did take almost a year to get good "settings". It was hard at first, I was a stay at home mom with two little boys. All the meds seemed to make me too tired and my boys just couldn't understand. Finally after about a year and a half things started to settled down. I am going in next week for my first PM change. My first PM lasted 13 1/2 years! That's unusual I hear. Good luck to you! The last thing I will say is stand up for yourself in regards to your drs. You know how your body feels. Don't take a " I don't know" .

Hi! I have congenital complete heart block and revived my first pacemaker when I was 17, my second at 25, and will be going in for #3 on just a few weeks. I have been able to live a completely normal life with my pacemaker.

I'm Ashley as well and I am 23. I was fitted with my 1st pacemaker 2 months ago for SSS.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
