Hi everyone! I joined a few yrs back & haven't been on in a yr or so. Just had a new Biotronic placed on Tues, 1-15. All's going well with it. From the posts I've read here it sounds as if Biotronic is a great pacer. The 1st one I had was a Meditronic and feel that it was poorly placed. Had problems with it from the 1st day till it was removed. The wire hurt like hell everytime I'd turn my head and stuck all out of my chest. Just hurt all the time and stayed swollen and irritated. This...

Hey guys went to the oral surgeon today and I need all four wisdom teeth out... I need to get them out on feb 14th only thing that has me considered is he wants to do it in an or due to my pm? And I have a cyst/tumor on one of my wisdom that needs to be tested .. Has anyone gone through this? Is it normal to have it in the or just because of the pacemaker? And the doctor is charging me 500 because I need to have it in the or because of the pacemaker I don't understand but as long as I'm sleeping...

I just got my pm on 1/14. I haven't been back to Dr. yet, but about 2 days after I went home, i have a hard time getting a deep breath, without having pain in my chest, and neck. Is this normal? Also, I am having like a burning sensation off and on about an inch or two below the incision. Kinda feels like something is sticking to it, but there isn't anything there! When i get up to do something, like cook supper or anything where I am standing for awhile, I have dull pain that starts in my...

Hi... I noticed a small piece of suture material protruding through my skin at the end of my pacemaker incision. I thought that it was just a short piece of suture left over from when they stitched me up last December 18. I pulled on it , thinking that it would be only a quarter of an inch long or so, but it kept coming. By the time I got it all pulled through, it was the length of my incision! (Probably 2 - 2 1/2 inches long) Now I am very worried that I removed something important. Has anybody...

I had my CRT-D installed 9/24/2012 and recalibration 1/2/2013; The tech showed me how the sync was working well with both RV and LV with minimal regurgitation; This has helped be feel a lot better as I felt the techs knew what they were doing instead of just twiddling knobs. My sob problem has come down and I feel lot better that in the past 3 months post installation 9/24. Since I am also a diabetic (type 2, with insulin), most of the sob is also related to to BG levels and insulin levels. My L...

PM implanted on Jan 2. I am going back to work tomorrow and have been trying to gear up by being progressively more active. I find that after what would in the past have been routine - an hours of walking, a movie or meal out etc...I come home exhausted. I notice a feeling (not actual) of shortness of breath especially when I walk faster. I do not feel lightheaded just a slight pressure between my breasts. If i press on it does nit get worse, but reslly does not go away until I slow down or rest....

Our 3rd son Easton has a pacemaker. He was diagnosed with complete AV heart block when he was 2. He received his first pacemaker when he was 4 and is going to be getting his 4th one this May. He is now 18. He will be switching to biventricular pacing and I wondered if anyone has had experience with this.

Good morning-
I was happy to see there is a 'club' for pacemaker patients.
I have browsed through the site. I am hoping someone could help me with a decision I have to make.
I am 44 years old and had my PM implanted in 2010 because my HR was around 20ish. When it was first implanted, my PM was used around 80% of the time. Then it was used less and less every time I had to check. Last time was 6 months ago and it was used 13% of the time which I have to assume was when I was sleepi...

How do you talk yourself down? I have sleep apnea and last Tuesday fell asleep in the couch and was sleeping so peacefully that my husband left me. I awoke with funny feeling in chest (shortness if breath) along with heart palpitations ( menopausal). Being only a short time post PM still have post PM panic and made the mistake if taking my BP. Ended up creaking out over the reading - not stroke territory, but high for me and calling 911. ER doc said coming was the right move, but I still felt fo...

I am going in on Friday for a pacemaker. I was just wondering what the recovery time is? I saw something saying that you shouldn't raise your left arm above your shoulder for 6 weeks. Is this True? Are they any other things i should know about. Will i still be able to drive? I will be going to see the arrhythmia coordinator on Thursday. Are there any question anyone can think of for me to ask? I am a little nervous about getting this done but i am more nervous to wait. So i am really happy to be...

Early Tues. a.m. I'm having a CRT-D implanted, and as the time approaches I am getting progressively more anxious. I had a major MI in October 1995 with a 100 percent blockage of the LAD. This significantly damaged the left side of my heart, leaving me with left ventricle that's out of synch with the right. My EF recently slipped to just under 35, and I've been experiencing increased SOB as well as chronic fatigue. I'm concerned about a number of things, including pain during and after surger...

Hello everyone. I am Susan and have been through an interesting few days. Shortly before Christmas I went to the ER with what I was 99.9% sure was peri menopausal heart palpitations. Was sent home with a pat on the head being told all was OK. Celebrated the holiday with family, returned to work and worked out on my treadmill all without incident. At 4:15am on Dec 30 I awoke with shortness of breath and dizziness. I went to the restroom and when I rose from the toilet got so dizzy I hit the floor...
