Hi everyone! I joined a few yrs back & haven't been on in a yr or so. Just had a new Biotronic placed on Tues, 1-15. All's going well with it. From the posts I've read here it sounds as if Biotronic is a great pacer. The 1st one I had was a Meditronic and feel that it was poorly placed. Had problems with it from the 1st day till it was removed. The wire hurt like hell everytime I'd turn my head and stuck all out of my chest. Just hurt all the time and stayed swollen and irritated. This time, the surgeon placed it deeper behind the muscle. Longer healing time, but hopefully no problems like before. Anyone else on here have problems with placement of their pacers? Pain, irritation from the wire, etc. So far, so good with this one! It's only been a week, but already have relief from the pain in my neck from the wire. Incision is healing nicely and not at all irritating. YAY!

placement trouble

i had trouble with placement too.
In my case they went back in after 6 months and moved it to resolve the issue.
The way my was placed originally it was so low that the bottom part was almost in the breast tissue, so it moved around.. the scar tissue never formed to keep it in place so it would rotate in my chest... not like clockwise... like where one side would fall away from my chest wall.
So they did a pocket revision at six months and moved it to a new pocket just ABOVE the scar instead of below it.
now things are great and i've had no trouble.
