I got my pacemaker on Friday Jan 11th. I had my instructions but somehow misplaced them. I was just wondering how long before i can shower. I have one of those tegaderm dressings. Other then wanting a shower i feel pretty good. I still have some pain but i feel better then i thought i would on day three.
Thanks again to everyone on this site for all your reply's it really has helped a lot. I hope i can do the same for someone else in the future.
xoxo loving life!

I was told I could take a shower after 3 days and I did.
It was great. You can check with yr doc. He should have mentioned when you could shower before you left the hospital.

I just taped some plastic wrap over the dressing to add an extra layer of water proof. I spent some time that night in the hot tub, but kept the area out of the water.
That spray sounds great. I'm going to ask for it at the pharmacy. I don't have any pacer surgery coming up, but there are sure a lot of uses for it. Some aren't even medical.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

My wound was sprayed with Opsite, a waterproof spray. I then could shower the morning after the evening insertion. It keeps it waterproof for about 2 weeks. No bandages and it felt great. This should be available from chemist although I had this done in the hospital
