Off topic, sorta. What do you know about Iora Health?

new pacemaker very visible

I had surgery on September 20, 2019 to replace my almost 11 year old pacemaker.  I have a Medtronic Azure now.  My first packemaker was barely noticeable under my shirt.  This new one seems to stick out a lot further than the old one.

Normally this is wouldn't bother me, but it really is right now.  Will this get better in time, being I'm only 10 days post surgery?  I was surprised that this newer pacemaker was a lot larger than the old one.

SUDDENLY STARTED SETTING OFF STORE SECURITY ALARMS

i have had my pacemaker for 2 1/2 years. For the first time since I got it, I have been setting off store alarms when I walk through. I frequent these stores almost everyday and this has never happened before. I have also had what I would call “an electric day” meaning I feel a little keyed up ... not really stress just a feeling I had when I awoke this morning. I have never set off alarms before. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal?

medic alert

since i obtained my 3 lead pacemaker i have a bracelet. also because i am often by myself now in the car i thought it might be wise to do this. i also carry a list of my meds from pharmacy in my wallet. having at one time worked in e.r. it was common to check wallets for list of meds in motor vehicle accidents where someone arrived unable to communicate. in our ambulances now they can look up my medical history and it will have an alert on it that i have a pacemaker. my husband died a few mon...

dizzy

Quick question..have my pacemaker 2 years this Oct for AV block with basically no issues.    Today will sitting at work talking to a coworker I started to feel dizzy almost like feeling like passing out.  it passed within 5 seconds at which time she stated I was flush.  Felt like my heart was racing.  I work in a hospital so they checked my pulse with was fine and pulse which was 75.  Has this happened to anyone. Elevated calcium

Hi all,

        Since my pacemaker implant last December for Trifasicular Block I have been feeling very unwell, with nausea,heartburn,fluctuating blood pressure, lethargy, occasional light headedness, short term memory loss, + aches + pains in chest + back. A-flutter and pacemaker?

I have had my PM since January 2019.  At last checkup heart was in flutter a lot.  Am going to wear a Holter monitor tomorrow for 24 hrs and then learn next step.  I had had Cardio verson and ablation before the PM.  I am now wondering why I have the PM when it isn't used for flutter?  I will ask Dr. these questions next visit but it's hard to cover everything in the 15 minuter allowed for the appt.  Thanks for any info.

SVT post pacemaker

Hey friends-

Does anyone have any advice/experience with sleeping on your left side and having it trigger palpitations/pacing? I haven't found anything advising me against sleeping on my sides, but sometimes when I do my heart will start pounding and I'll start pacing and it won't stop til I change my position. Anyone else experience this?

Heart rate drop with extra beats

  Hello, lately I have  been experiencing asked to be with PACs. I am on my fourth pacer. Most recent the Azure. When the  extra beats start they cause a drop in pulse down to the 30s 40s or 50s, and then my heart has to contract and I beat like 110 or 120. This can happen multiple times throughout the day and causes severe fatigue shortness of breath and dizziness. My pacemaker is set at 70. Private health insurance UK

Hi All,

 

I am moving to Mexcio and have a pacemaker. Anyone have any idea on if there are health insurance policies that allow pre-existing pace makers. Im 30 and fit s a fiddle (little pacemaker controlled Adam-Stokes syndrome, but otherwise well!)

 

UK citizien and no USA residency unfortunatly.

Need advice

Has anyone gotten their pacemaker removed permanently? Long story short I am not using it at all anymore and have 9 years battery life left, plenty of time to see if I will use it again before having the option to get it removed, replaced or get a monitor. Not sure what I’m going to do yet. I sometimes have anxiety just thinking about it, like what if I didn’t need it all along and would have gotten a second opinion (even though it was an emergency type of situation).

Decision to get an ICD

Hi, thank you for the support that this group offers!  I’m a 62 year old male and am trying to weigh the risks and benefits of having an ICD implanted and would love any and all perspectives and inputs that you can provide.

I am on verapamil 180mg for  atrial tachycardia   For the past 2 weeks I have a follow up I’m avout 5”6 and 200lbs idk if I need a high dose because all though they have been working my heart still here and thier races fast but it dose calm down now instead of staying high like it use to so should I ask for high dose

New Pace Maker

I received a new dual chamber Boston Scientific Pace Maker on 7-31-19.  They had to do a revision the next day due to one lead not staying in place.  I had bradycardia and normally had a HR around 49 to 51 at rest.  I am 72 yrs old.  In addition to several additional conditions, I also have emphysema.  It was hoped that the pace maker would  increase by energy level which was severely low and also help with the breathing issues that I had on any exertion.  A...

TSA concerns

I am troubled by airport security procedures and wonder what rights pacemaker patients have vis a vis TSA and other international security screeners.

Specifically, when not accompanied by a friend or spouse, pacemaker patients can be separated for prolonged periods of time from their valuables in their screened carry-on luggage, such as money, medications, wallets, passports, etc.
