shallow breath

Hi, got a pacemaker 2 weeks ago. All is well but I am experiencing shortness of breath periodically. NOT a collapsed lung. Doesn't hinder me, just a bit disconcerting. Had a check in today and the NP said this is normal, what do y'all think. I am a 65 year old male...pretty healthy.  Thanks

It's possible it's as simple as adjusting the settings, but it's not normal. Can you get past the NP to the doctor? Is it happening on exertion?

Agreed! Not normal.

Pacemakers aren't miracle cures for everyone but they shouldn't make anything worse.  I won't be as nice as Tracy.  The NP telling you that it is normal is reprehensible.  New incidences of shortness of breath should be investigated and not just brushed off as somehow "normal".  It may be benign but it should be investigated quickly.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
