But this depends more on you than the pacemaker.  We don't know much about you and why you need a pacemaker so really don't have much to go on.  Many of us feel fantastic the day after because the pacemaker got to the bottom of what was keeping us down.  Others take a lot longer.  Some have been having troubles for years and are, frankly, out of shape because exercise has been difficult.  It's going to take this group longer to bounce back.  Some still have problems that need to be addressed.  Others may need tweaking of the settings to see any gain.

There are hundreds of reasons one might need a pacemaker and there are even more types of people.  Everyone is different and there is no way to predict with any confidence, how you're going to fare after pacemaker surgery.

It all depends on how much you are spending

I  am a fit 48 year old and I was surprised how I did not bounce back. It took me 5-6 months to feel symptom free, like I was before the pacemaker implant.

grocery shopping

I found grocery shopping extremely strenuous before PM implant.  Now that I'm not as weak or out of breath . . . it can still sometimes be exhausting.  The stores are just too big!  And I refuse to use one of those little carts.

To the OP:  If you are weak after grocery shopping . . . it's too soon.  "Listen to your body" is not empty advice.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
