I received some incorrect advice from my consultant a couple of years ago which lead to me being hospitalised, and requiring an Op. The doctor, colleagues and all the staff deny any mistake was made and I'm scolded if I bring it up, even with my new consultant.
I regard doctors as gods, and take their advice above all others. However I'm not able to any more. This experience has really stopped me being able to trust them.
Has anyone else had an experience like this?&n...

I just got a defib implant on 1/5/17. Having so many problems that I want to tell them to take it back out and I'll take my chances! Diaphram jumping (as I write this), still have premature beats at random times but mostly as soon as I lay down. In the ER on the 20th due to afib and a subsequent shock- a problem that I have never experienced before. Doctors keep saying they don't know why any of this is happening and just keep adjusting the stupid thing but always the symptoms return....

Yup! Haven't been on here in a couple years but got an email from this just now? Anyway, yes. Depression and doubt creeps in so easily. My body is slowly failing me in several many ways including my pacer which I've had about 5-6 years. After just about 4 years my battery decided to run out of time. So just got a new one 6 mos ago. Different company. Because of being in constant Afib my battery is cranked up to the max, therefore ca...

Hello,
I decided that this may be a good place for me to be. I had tricuspid valve replacement in 2014 and after had to have a pacer implanted. I'm 100% paced. I handled all the appointments very well for a while and really had such a zest for life. As time when on though, things have certainly gotten harder. There have been many complications, my battery life is expected to last 3-4 years due to a faulty lead, and i just found out my prosthetic valve is going to need to be replaced...

I had my Biotronic PM places in Oct. 2014. Last Thursday (1 week ago) I started having pain/cramp at my left shoulder blade. Like I had caused a muscle pull. I do not remember doing anything to my back to cause this feeling.
By Friday my whole back and chest had the horrible pain. I went to the ER they said I needed a massage. Tight muscles.
I am worried that this might be due to a problem with my pacemaker. Does anyone have any idea about this?

I just had my new Medtronic PM installed 3 days ago, I am having a strange sensation when I stand, walk, and for a few minutes once I sit down. It is hard to describe. It feels like a pulse and it makes me momentarily dizzy, and I can feel it most in my head but also my hands and feet. Like it is affecting my nerves, it also effects my hearing (I can hear a pulse as it happens). I started last night only happening a few times, but this morning it seems worse. Strangest thing ever and I c...

Hello,
Recently joined, and saw several posts about others who had fibrulations after pacemaker installed.
Had mine put in about 4 years ago. No testings indicated any fibrulations until last years
Was put in because I had violent seizures from drinking too much alcohol just before working out and sitting in a sauna for almost half an hour.
Heart beat went down so low VA doctor put in pacemaker.
No other issues indicated until this year when I insisted...

Pacemaker on 12/16/16 Things went well until Dec. 26th when I came down with severe bronchitis. Skipped a couple of doses of elliquis. Members convinced me that was not a good idea so went back on it. I coughed so hard and so long that I went into afib. Dr. prescribed metoprolol which helped with the flutters but did not fix the afib. Forward to January 11 - I had the TEE - no blood clots. This was followed by a cardio-version to put my heart back into a normal rythm. They asked me if I...

Hello,
So everything has been going awesome in how I feel after my surgery in October. Had pacemaker put in for sinus braycaric, sinatrial node dysfunction and 2nd degree a-v block.
I have been putting off getting back to exercising (which was stupid on my part) but I did get back to it this week. I have done a kickboxing video and walking so far. So during walking this week 5 times now I have had a very very hard flutter feeling...

My PM went so well. Christmas Day was wonderful. Felt better than I have for years. Unfortunately I came down with the worst case of bronchitis I have ever had - well never had it before. I coughed so hard that I seem to have continous afib. I skipped 2 doses of elliquis because I thought it was causing fluid retention but then got scared and went back on it. I am scheduled for a barium xray Friday to see if I can tolerate a TEE next Wednesday to check for blood clots. Pray for my normal...

I am a little nervous about having a second surgery to correct one of my leads that has moved in the morning. I feel tapping on my rib from the lead on the right side. This happens many times a day but my doctor said he has not heard that before. When he was manually pacing in his office to adjust the rythems I felt it again. I have also had a violent cough since original surgery. Is this normal? I didn't feel bad prior to the implant but not so good now. I have 6 children, 15 grand...

Hi and Happy New Year to all...has anyone had a trapped lead removed from heart?. I had one removed two and a half years ago and I'm still anxious about my leads becoming displaced again, it was a very scary experience. I had the most fantastic treatment and the hospital and surgeons involved were the best in Europe but I really have never been the same since, always afraid of it happening again. Any feedback appreciated

Was hospitalized and diagnosed with POTS and atrial tachycardia and placed on metropopol and colander. Nearly able to walk 20 feet without heart racing and sob. Hi all , I'm 42 and had a dual chamber implanted on march 7th 2016, after being promised the usual that I would be feeling like a new man after a while I'm still having severe complications , the pacer was turned down to its lowest settings due to myself being sensitive to pacing , I recently had a test and all is well with the pacer only pacing at 8 % coming down from 37%. All this sounds great but I actually feel terrible , I have severe dizziness and palpitations which have b...

Hello, I'm about 26 months post ICD implant, when I do shoulder rolls on my left arm I get a tremendous cracking noise and discomfort afterwards, also it seems there is a slight numbness down my left arm (ICD side) and even discolouring at time (discolouring most noticeable after a hot shower). Does anyone know any exercises that could help alleviate this?
I expressed concern to my cardiologist and he said it could be from IV and blood work (I have had a lot of blood work...

So I received a pacemake a little over 2 years ago for unexplained complete Heartblock. I am 46. I use my PM 100% of the time pacing only the bottom 1/2 of my heart due to the complete Heartblock. Everything was going along fine, I was feeling good, and even ran a half marathon in October of 2015. That is, until May of this year. I started have ATR episodes. They happen almost exclusively while I am sleeping. My doctor said I should cut back on my coffee intake, which I did (cut back fro...

Hello! I recently had a defibrillator after having 3 cardiac arrest events on the same day(10/14/16). The first one took place in my office. I was told that I was without oxygen for 24 minutes. I had another in the emergency room and then in ICU. They put me in a medical coma and a cooling bed for 3 days. After I was woken up, they decided to put in the defibrillator I am extremly lucky to have walked away. I am grateful, however I am still not feeling great. I have returned to...
