Pacemaker on 12/16/16 Things went well until Dec. 26th when I came down with severe bronchitis. Skipped a couple of doses of elliquis. Members convinced me that was not a good idea so went back on it. I coughed so hard and so long that I went into afib. Dr. prescribed metoprolol which helped with the flutters but did not fix the afib. Forward to January 11 - I had the TEE - no blood clots. This was followed by a cardio-version to put my heart back into a normal rythm. They asked me if I was short of breath prior to the procedure and I said no but I really was because that was the first thing I noticed before I left the hospital - I could breathe easier. Very pleased with the whole procedure and feeling great. Now have to figure out how to pay for the Eliquis

Nothing wrong with it

It's just another option, but Eliquis is more expensive.
Thankfully I can afford the extra cost, it's important to me not to have to get stuck for regular blood testing which Coumadin requires.
Also, shame on you for not telling you doctor the truth. You need to start following instructions and start being honest with them AND yourself.

I went into the donut hole last year. Ask you doctor for samples. My doctor gave me samples helped with the expense.

...Coumadin/Warfarin? People used it for years, safely. Costs only about $4 per month in most pharmacies in the US.
