Just don’t feel good

This is all still new to me and I guess I’m just not sure how I am suppose to feel after 4 weeks, but I was hoping it would be better than I do.  I actually had a whole day when I felt normal and I thought I had turned the corner and now I haven’t  felt good for 2 days.  My primary thinks I should try an anxiety med but I don’t think that’s what it is.  They seem to have the same side affects that landed me in the hospital getting a pm.  M...

Alcohol and PM

Hi,

Prior to receiving my PM I had complete heart block, but no major symptoms with my heart.

I have just received my PM yesterday and I have received mixed messages about the consumption of alcohol.

Would  the consumption of alcohol effect  my PM and thus interfering with my heart ?.

Regards

Ventricular Trachycardia

Hi.  I have a dual lead St. Jude PM for Type 2, 2nd degree heart block.   At my last pacemaker interrogation, an episode of VT showed a heart rate of 230 beats per minute for 9 seconds.  I remember when it happened and I had it written down to discuss with the technicican.  The cardiologist on call suggested I start immediately on a beta blocker (5 mg of Bisoprolol) and see my own cardiologist as soon as possible, which turned out to be t...

Available Pacemakers

I have been struggling for 16 years with a-fib and have reached the point where there is nothing more they can do for me. I’ve had 5 ablations and 19 cardioversions. I like to ride my bike, swim, maybe compete in Masters Swimming, and until 2 or 3 years ago, I competed in sprint triathlons. I’d love to get back into that and am wondering if there are pacemakers that will respond to exercise. My sinus node works fine, it’s just that other extraneous sources of electricity scr...

Uncomfortable @ sight where Icd Implanted

Hello, I am new to this sight which when I first scanned through it thought  this is the place I had been looking for.

I had a ICD implanted on January 16th, 2019. After the first couple of weeks of uncomfortableness I found the surgery sight would be very uncomfortable when moving my left arm in certain positions and especilly with sleeping. I feel like I need to hold on to the device when rolling over during the night and changing positions. My...

CRT-P

I have three questions:  I received my CRT-P on 3/13.  I had severe shortness of breath before but still have it although with less frequency and intensity.  Anyone experience the same and what was done.

I also want to know if I can drink white wine

I have never gone to bed with an un-named heart beat.  Therefore, I feel my CRT-P should have a name.  Any suggestions?

I have arrived!

Well, somehow I woke up this morning feeling very happy!  I was sitting in my recliner with my pug sleeping on my lap as I sipping my hot coffee.  I came to realize why I was feeling so happy.  I'm getting a new PM on April 22 because this one is running out of juice a year early. I've been scared and worried and well, feeling sad.  Today, it's the old me back again! hahahha, I'm getting a new PM! I'm not going to die, I'm not going to be sad,...

Pacemaker implanted feb 13, 2019. Minor short 2 hours of AFIB three times until Friday March 22, 2019. Have been in and out of AFIB with probably 98% in AFIB. Heart rate has been 100+ at rest. Prior since feb 13 rate has been 60-70 at rest. Taking rate reduction meds. Pacemaker set at 60 bpm.

Any experiences with this.

CRT

3 months on LifeVest. Beginning 4th month. Awaiting nuclear scan, then to meet Cardiologist for decision. I have more frequent weakness, tiredness. Spend so much time having to lie down. HR very up and down, even low 30’s. BP very up and down, can go very low. EF mid 30’s varying. NICM. Subendocardial damage low to mid left ventricle, not transmural. Septum not squeezing, but hopefully, this is electrically correctable. PVC’s many, IVCD’s frequent, LBBB.

Are you being hacked ?

There is yet another hacking scare in the UK press this morning.  This one concerns a security flaw which affects 16 separate models of Medtronic defibrillators. It seems that these faults mean that the MYCareLink Monitor enables a hacker to intercept the radio frequency communication to your implanted device.

Nothing to worrry about though it only means that a hacker standing no more than 20ft from your home could give you electric shocks or drain your defibrillator battery ! &nbs...

Beta Blockers and the PM dependent

I'm an A-V Node ablated dude w/pacemaker.  My PM regulates my heart rate to the 84 - 90 range. Is adrenaline gonna effect the rate? Not that I've noticed. The fatigue effects I do notice. Is there more at play here? I also take Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor whose function I understand. My BP is generally low - 105/62 ...........94/58 at times ----- I'll stop my beta blocker use for a few days to see how I feel. Am I playing with fire?

Need advice about needing pacemaker

I am a 60 year old lifetime amatuer endurance athlete.  Cycling is my main activity (about 50-100 mi per week, on hilly terrain), with some running and other activities.  Last year I had three episodes, the first was on an a treadmill, at about 8 minutes, still in warm-up doing a slow run I felt really dizzy so I backed down to a walk for a couple minutes, felt fine, then continued back to normal pace.  I have a heart rate monitor watch, so when I looked at what happened later...

Pacemaker safe ear buds

Hi all I’m new to this forum and new to living with a pacemaker, I only had it fitted three months ago , the thing I noticed immediately is that the pacemaker interfears with earphone or ear buds when listening to music and that they can cause the pacemaker to have problems ,so I looked everywhere for a set that were pacemaker safe and I mean everywhere, with no luck so I dicided to adapted my own after a lot of research and trial and error I have done it completely pacemaker safe...

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
