Hi, had a Boston Dual Chamber Pacemaker fitted 14 days ago, all seems to have gone well sofar, other than the often tiny little shock type sensations in the chest area and pacemaker location on the left side as well, they last a second or so. Any advice with that that anyone has experienced this?
I’m also a type 1 diabetic, insulin dependant, doesn’t seem to have any issues in relation to the Pacemaker other than the fact I feel quite tired often. <...

I did not finish explaining on my condition, my fault.
I had minor palpitations during the day but , this was seconds, it was the ones that occured on the hour, they would last for about a minute or more and they would stop as suddenly as they started. Anyway the last adjustment has stopped the 21 hour problem but not the ones during the day.

I received my pacemaker in December 2017 & was only pacing at 4%. I just asked the device clinic what my readings were & they said in May I was 65% and in July 74%. What would cause such a huge change so quickly? I am really scared. Any help is appreciated.

They control my heart from a laptop. So why do I feel so helpless?
My heart is broken. But not the way you think I mean. It’s actually broken. Doctors call it heart failure, but since I’m not the type of person who likes to fail at anything, I’ll just say that it is broken. It’s permanent, though, and that’s the hardest thing fo...

A few months ago I had a very bad flu and started vomiting. This threw my heart into an irregular rythym and tachycardia. My regular Cardiologist had retired so I depended on the Cardiologist on duty to make a decision to convert it back to rythym. My old doctor would always administer medication for this. This doctor had them convert me with 1200 Jules of electricity. It did convert me back and but could it have damaged my pacemaker?

Hello to all. Last month I went to the ER with a pulse rate of 28. I received a pacemaker right away. I had trouble breathing after and was told I had heart failure. I never had any trouble with the pacemaker and was doing ok after getting oxygen. The next day, a doctor from the same practice wanted to do a catheterization. Afterwards he came to see me and said I needed a bypass because of blockage. I said I just want to go home to think about it and r...

My pacemaker was implanted on May 2. I feel good and have resumed all activities except golf, swimming and weightlifting above my shoulder. The only oddity I have experienced is when I shave under my arm, the pacemaker is sometimes sitting there. This has happened two or three times but not every time. Is it normal to have pacemakers move that much? Is this something I should contact my cardiologist about?

I had a Pacemaker implanted in May of 2018. My first checkup at 60 days showed I was pacing 35% of the time. Recently (around 13 weeks) I was still feeling a little lightheaded and returned to the Hospital Pacemaker Clinic. Testing showed I was now pacing at 96% of the time. Not too worried about this change as I am exercising more now. The technician did do some adjustments. This was 3 days ago. Since this last visit, I am feeling a prickly sensation...

My pacemaker( St Jude Abbott) was placed about a month ago and I have set up the at home monitor(Merlin@Home) which I received. I read that it is possible to check my data which is gathered by the monitor on my home computer.
I checked out the Pacemaker Club page and was offered a Medtronic Carelink option...but was rejected due to a problem with my serial number.
I am wondering if anyone has experience setting up a carelink type option with St Jude Abbott and Merlin @home?...

I just got a 'loop recorder' implanted Friday. The backstory is: Since about February I'd been experiencing 'butterflies' in my heart/chest. The attacks varied in intensity. But I would ignore them because they didn't last very long and it really wasn't causing any pain. Plus, I already have GERD and chalked up the symptoms as being part of that. FF to one day in June, my heart started acting up again. This time he hurt lik...

A client phoned me yesterday who I had last spoken to the day of my hospital admittance. I was just getting in my car in the condo basement. I said to her that the reception may be poor because I am underground. Her response was "oh so the operation did not go so well then" 😂😂
You know you're wired when...
You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.
