I had my first pacemaker placed in March 2019. I am a 38year old female. I woke up last night with a dull soreness at my pacemaker site. I thought I had been sleeping on it funny, so adjusted. The pain continued and this morning, it still is sore, and definitely noticed the pain when changing my toddler's diaper. Could this be something I caused by sleeping on it wrong? I have been fully recovered for a while now.

I went to see my cardiologist for a normal check up and when I went he got really concerned when he did my ekg. He went and had me do a stress test and a echo after to see what was happening. He said he thinks I'm going into heart failure. He altered some of the settings on my pacemaker and he gave me a new medication to try for a month. He says right now he can't tell if it is my afib or if it is my heart going into failure. I'm really hoping it's just my afib.

Went to Cardiologist in Sept because I was having times when I felt like someone was stepping on my chest. I am a tennis instuctor and exercise at least three times a week with weights twice a week. Like may of you I was pretty surprised I could have anything wrong with (me at all) my heart. After 6 months and multiple Drs, the Cardiologist I went to for the second opinion diagnosed me with Symptomatic Bardycardia or Sinus Node Dysfunction (he used them interchangeably...

I currently have a Medtronic DTMA1D1 3-lead PM. The third lead is functionally "dead." EP recently tried but failed - due to my hearts anatomy - to install a new lead by coming in from the right side. His bundle pacing attempt also failed. If I could get my left and right ventricles more synchronized, perhaps I'd feel better. Next step would be the epicardial approach. EP has suggested a surgeon in his group that can perform this surgery via the "keyho...

Certainly a very minor question, in view of all the Covid-19 concerns. Does anyone have up-to-date info on effects of induction cooking and your pacemaker. Latest info on site is 4 years old.

In November, 2019, before surgery I had an echocardiogram. I had a St. Jude Pacemaker inplanted. It had two leads, one to the lower right chamber and the second to communicate to the upper chamber. I was placed on blood thinner. Upon return to the hospital in December, I was echocardiogramed again and cardioverted. In late Feburary I had one of my follow up medical appointments. I was removed from meds. I don't know why the doctor did not say anything before but during this...

Kind of a summary of my recent Cath Lab event with my EP and his assistants;
Indications: Left ventricular dyssynchrony
Conclusion: Unsuccessful attempt of LV lead implant or His bundle pacing from the right subclavian vein. Consider epicardial LV lead placement.
Procedure: "Attempt LV lead implant. Patient was taken to the EP lab. Venogram was performed which demonstrated patent right subclavian vein. Patient was prepped and draped in sterile fashion. Vanco...

Hello everyone!
i'm really happy to have found this site. My name is Jordan, and I was born with Complex Congential Heart Disease. As such, I've had many pacemakers throughout my life - if I had to give a rough estimate, I had about 5 temporary ones (all in my stomach) before I was 3 years old. Upon turning 3 I was flown to Mott's Children's Hospital in Michigan and had a surgery known as the "Double Switch" performed on me. Honestly, I don't even truly und...

My mother has a Medtronic PM/Defibrillator. The original device was installed in 2001 (concerto, I believe). Many complications with it. She received about 30 non therapeutic shocks in the first year. The device wasnt functioning properlly and had to be switched out.
The newer devices battery depleted in 2005, a new device was put in.
That one lasted until 2009. By now the surgical site and pocket were so scarred and hard to the touch.
New device installed in 2016. Was...

I had a Boston Scientific Accolade PM installed 4/2018. A few months later I began to notice strange pulsations (throbbing vibrations) occuring randomly at the site of the PM unit in my chest. Later I realized they were not random ... they occured on even hours of the day, more often evening hours, and 14 pulses at a time. They are not painful but noticeable.
My MD never heard of such a thing ... Boston Scientific babbled something about "self-tests" but begge...

Dear Gemita, thank you so much for your message. I was feeling pretty low and having someone to talk to helps. I knew right away something was wrong. I kept getting a stabbing pain in my heart. I then developed very small lumps that kept growing and are painful. I get very itchy and then fluid started to build up where it got hard to swallow. I was in the hospital on strong doses of prednisone (I've had to take prednisone again since) it helps somewhat. Fluid is building up even on my bac...
