try cutting back on using salt.  do not eat processed foods.  if not, do read the labels to see how much is per servings.  have had to stop eating green olives.  can now tell when have eaten too much salt leg swells.

sorry for writing with out capitals, using left hand only.

call your doctor

If swelling is not typical for you, call your doctor asap. Check your blood pressure if you have a monitor. That is not at all normal.

Not normal

Not only it it not normal but it's dangerous. This is a symptom of a complication of your surgery. Every healthcare worker who saw me after my implant checked for oedema by squeezing my ankles, looking for fluid. In my case, nothing was found but it's important enough for them to not wait for self reporting.

Swelling of Legs

by Selwyn - 2020-03-10 14:42:46

Swelling of the legs may indicate major organ failure ( heart, kidney, liver).

Swelling of the legs is commonly seen from sitting around with the feet dangling eg. long haul flights, inactivity.

It can be a symptom of protein deficiency.

It can be due to poor venous return ( such as varicose veins or blood clots, or blocked off lymphatics from such as cancer, excessive heat)

As some causes are serious and some causes are completely harmless, a  medical opinion is advised.

Correction of the underlying cause is the treatment, though sometimes diuretic tablets ( "water tablets") are prescribed as a short term fix.
