Hi. I have been told I have a double heart block and although I do not get dizzy my heart rate drops to 40bpm at times. The Dr says I need a pacemaker. As I have no symptoms I wonder why?

I have a terrible cold and can't remember which drugs are not safe to take with Sotalol. I will do an on line search for compatibility information, but would appreciate any advice members might have on this question.

Hi There,
I'm off to Russia to work at the World Cup next week. Where I am working I have to walk through a metal detector on the way in and out. I really need a nice simple letter that I can hand to the guards saying that I have a pacemaker and wouldn't be able to walk through.
Does anyone have anything kind of official I can get translated?
I could word it myself.. and I'm sure it would probably suffice, just think if anyone had anything it would no d...

As I’ve posted else where, I should find out in the next week or so if I need PM
I have Medicare and Cigna Supplemental insurance and live in Virginia.
For those of you with similar insurance, what was you out of pocket cost????

Hi PM Members,
I was PM implanted 05/07/18. Good days & not so good mentally. My question is...Am I supposed to have these "fluttering" feelings in the middle between my breasts. It makes me gasp as if I will lose my breath. Is this normal? The first visit back to the Dr office (one week after plant) with the PM techs said I must be sensitive and if I still have it when I come back (June 14), that they would call someone in from St Jude (my bra...

i have 3 questions. i had CRT-D procedure 4 years ago
1. can PVCs affect pacing of a CRT-D?
2. can PVCs damage heart muscle?
3. what might account for great discrepancy of PVC s on my interrogatio and holtor monitor?

I think that this might be a dumb question but I don’t know who else to ask. Had my pm implanted March 5, 2018 and I’m feeling fine. When I sit quietly and can hear my heart beat it doesn’t sound the same as it used to. Has anyone else noticed this ? Mine sounds more like a rattle. I had this before when I was in full heart block.
I just love reading about other people with the same condition as myself. This site is awesome!

Hello Friends,
This morning I was laying on my side in bed, and I felt my pacemaker move sideways into my chest (I am a woman). It was a very weird and uncomfortable feeling enough for me to yell. Then when I rolled back over straight, I could've sworn I felt it "popping" back into place and again, just a REALLY weird sensation. That area has felt extremely uncomfortable all day and I don't know if it is just in my head or if something actually happened to it. It has n...

71yo, male in reasonably good health. Have had Bradycardia for 35+ years, however, its been causing worsening symptoms for 6 years. Family Dr says its now time for a Pacemaker, so sent me to my Cardiologist, who put me on a 2-week wireless heart monitor. Came off it 6-days ago, no report yet. Have an echogram this coming Tuesday to see if my prolapsed mitral valve might need attention.
Symptoms: Avg resting pulse is 42-48, and with exertion: extreme fatigue...

I'm 57 and as a nurse work 12 hour shifts. Had PM placed June 2017. I immediately felt better. More energy and fuzzy brain started clearing. Around the end of the year, I started to feel tired again and more forgetful. PM has been tweaked a couple of times recently due to having sudden, increased heartrate which did not match my activity. I was told, "Most people can't feel what you are feeling." Not sure what that was supposed to mean, I'm sensitive? My doctor has...

I put this message under General Messages because I need an answer pretty quickly. I went yesterday to " a personal trainer" yesterday for the first time since my pacemaker. I have been riding my exercise bike at home and doing exercises like bicep curls , step up , triceps. Also do some stuff on my bed for back and my bum knees. I have my rate response turned off. First because the bumpy road I was having to drive over made me feel bad. Now, I want it back on, but since I now have...

I am new to this website and, in fact, until a week ago, a pacemaker was far removed from my mind.
I am 68 and lead an active lifestyle. I exercise for at least 30 minutes every day by walking (including some jogging) or cycling. A couple of days per week this is increased to 60 minutes each session. Although my occupation is sedentary in nature, I have a 3 acre property, so this requires continuous and at times strenuous work. I have never smoked and I tend to keep away from fast foods...

I don't know much about that Monday morning the last day of April this year other than it was the mother of all bad Monday mornings for me... I do remember the sirens and my friend Dennis' voice, "stay with me, Ron, Stay with me..."as I lay virtually lifeless on the paking lot pavement. The other part I remember is returning to consiousness only to have the ER Doctor shout "CLEAR" as he punched the button of the defibrillator.... (I am sure some of you have h...

Good morning- Just wondering if anyone has experienced this. I have had this sensation awhile back and now am experiencing it again. It is like I am feeling some sort of electrical impulse in my heart. Scary feeling to say the least. I have PVC's at times but this is totally different. At times the sensation is mild and at other times quite strong. I have had a holter monitor on to try and catch these but you know how that goes....didn't have the sensations or when I did they didn'...

Today was my first day back to work after a 4 week break given to me by my Dr. after my pacemaker implant. I work in maintenance for an apartment community so Im moving arund all day doing all sorts of things, from cleaning grounds to fixing A/Cs and appliances, etc. All day was mostly good with some moments that I felt a lil tired. Im asuming it is because I havent lift a finger for what seem like forever, until I started working then felt like too short lol. But my...

I am 49 years old and received a PM implant in January for SSS. During the process of diagnosis, I found out that I have irregular heartbeats (or extra heartbeats?) or PVCs. I am more aware of PVCs after the implant. Or now when I don't feel completely ok, I know I am having PVCs. I feel them almost every day for a little bit and they go away. Sometimes they last for a few days and make me feel uncomfortable. When they are more severe, I feel them in my throat. I have talked to my EP...

I got my PM last July and I have been doing well, so when it came time for me to get my yearly mammogram I didn't give it a second thought I've had a few and it wasn't too bad so this shouldn't be any different. I really do forget that I have a PM until I'm bathing or changing clothes. Well just as I'm falling asleep I remember that I have a PM and that I have no idea if it's dangerous for me to have it done. I'm supposed to have it done tomorrow morning a...

Hello everyone!
I’m very new to this. My doctor recommended dual chamber PM because of sinus node dysfunction. Have pauses that were linked to symptoms. While I don’t feel them anymore and I felt the symptoms were related to something else, I did finally decide to go ahead with the device because my heart rate is very low - usually in the low 40s or high 30s during the day. I don’t feel fatigued at all. Can go from 6am - midnight without feeling tired or resting....
You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
