Has anyone had any experience having a Tens treatment used for muscle stimulation and pain relief while having a pacemaker? i checked the maunfacturers website and they do not recommend using a Tens unit but some people say that as long as you keep the probe pads at least 12" away from the PM, they are OK. The manufacturers may be stating this to be on the safe side, but store theft devices and MRI's are considered safe with caution. I have had treatment for sciatica prior to t...

Hello all, it seems that everyday is a challenge since December when I got my first PM replacement. This morning I noticed a spasm/slight pain under my pacemaker. I tried to recreate the pain but couldn't. It comes and goes and lasts about 10 seconds every few minutes. I'm concerned but feel that going to the ER would be trivial. I don't have any chest pain, shortness of breath. Any ideas?

I had pacemaker implanted in December 2016, I had AFib in Sept 2015. I was diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome. Also tachy-bradia syndrome. Pacemaker was originally set at 65 beats, then reduced to 60. I was okay for first 4 months, I now find that after mild exertion, or no exertion, my pulse rates jumps to 90's then settles back to 60. Fullness and burning in chest happens then pulse increases. I have been in an ankle cast for 3 months, I am wondering...

So yeah.... I'm pretty much freaking out right now. I have a lot of research to do. I have sick sinus syndrome apparently. I've been weak, dizzy, near syncope, exhausted for weeks. Spent 6 days in 2 different hospitals. All heart tests were good. 30 day monitor is catching pauses. I am scared of....well...all of it.

Hi all, are there any parents of kids who have been paced recently? My son Prabhu's doctors have advised that he would need a pacemaker in 2-3 months. He has Complete Heart Block 3°. He is 7 now and is in grade 3. He is an active boy with no signs other than bradycardia and fatigue after a spurt of physical activity. His current average PR is 50/min.
If there is anyone here who has a similar experience with a kid, pray share your experiences. Hows the surgery and post op like?&n...

Hi Everyone,
I am brand new to this group and I have a cardiac question. I have a friend who is in this group and she thought I could get some valuable feedback from some of the people here.
Does anyone here know anything about Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction? I had a doctor tell me it's nothing to worry about and that it is a normal part of the changes a person sees in their heart as they age (I am 57).
I saw a cardiologist because I was having frequent...

Hello, I've had this particular battery in for 4 years now and have been having pain around the site for about 3 months. I'm currently abroad to study and leave in 1 month, but the pain is getting harder and harder to tolerate. I've been to 2 cardiologists here who don't know how to help me because all of my vitals and pacemaker functionings are normal. (which is good-can't complain about that). BUT I have a TON of pain right on top of it and its swollen. Yes, infectins ha...

Hi folks,
Has anybody been diagnosed with cardiac sarcoidosis? As a matter of fact, most of the electrical disfunction is caused by sarcoidosis which is a type of inflammation that is hard to get rid of.
I would like to discuss/share experience with follow patients.
Keep well.

I had my St.Jude's pacemaker implanted 2 months ago and am just now looking at my Merlin at-home transmitter EX1150 that my husband plugged in and put under my side of the bed. I was questioning if it was plugged into our landline, as the tech said to just take it home and plug it into an electric outlet and I was reading about all sorts of other hook-ups, like landline, internet, wi-fi, cell phone, etc. . I now see that there is a Huawei ce0682 modem thing hooked up to it! No set-up...

Well I did it. Had PM inserted on 4/24/2017 to resolve SSS w/ bradycardia. HR frequently in low 30’s. Implant went well and I feel great! No more palpitations, unsteadiness, shortness of breath. Seem to have much more energy. I had some apprehension about going through with this, but am now glad I did. The insertion area is still pretty tender but healing nicely. I’m a golfer and swimmer so the recommended 3 month down time is a little annoying but hey, a small price to pay. Glad...
