Achy?

I am about 10 weeks post PM placement (my first one)

I have my three month evaluation scheduled in about 2.5 weeks.  My concern at the moment is a constant achy feeling to the left shoulder/neck and upper arm.  It feels weak or overused but I am not doing anything beyond ordinary daily activities.  Has this been a thing for new recipients?  Does this fade over time?  It is quite irritating.

Finally, an Answer

My saga began 4 years ago when I first passed out while sitting at my computer at work. I had absolutely no prior warning and woke up with all my co-workers hovering over me. Of course by the time the paramedics arrived, everything was normal.

For the next two years, I passed out every 6-8 months. I had my primary care doctor check for all the easy things (thyroid, blood sugar, etc.) She thought it was neurological and sent me to a neurologist where I had an MRI of my brain along with s...

Ablation and pacemaker implant 3 weeks ago

Hi all.. I am new here and I had an ablation as well as a Biotroniks pacemaker implant just over three weeks ago. Also started Sotalol med. Since the procedures I am experiancing on/off bursts of rapid heart rate that lasts from 30 seconds upto 3 minutes as well as my usual pvc/pac activity. I notice the rapid rate usually around 120+ when I make a body move such as going from sitting to standing, or visa versa, bending or leaning over from a standing or sitting position. Also when I roll ove...

Cell phones

Does anyone have the moto z cell phone? I read that it has a magnet in it for these things called mods. I figured that wouldn't be good for me. I have a St Judes pacemaker and am 100% dependent. Anyone know what cell phones are safest for us?

sewing machines

Hi all,

Today I have had to see occy health at work, they recently had a technician in to have a look at my industrial sewing machine, which I use everday.

The report came back to say I was ok to use it as long as I was 2feet away from the motor due to my pacemaker.

The occy health wasn't convinced by this and sending off for more reports, I also have to visit their Doctor.

Had my pacemaker 20yrs ago and never had a problem, does anyone think she is going a bit ove...

Can I travel

I was told 2 weeks ago that I needed a pacemaker as my heart was stopping for 6 seconds at a time, I was also told that it would be fitted within a couple of weeks unless I had a syncope episode and to go straight to A&E I had just booked a surprise holiday for my husband in September told the doctor this and his reply was as it was being done so soon that wouldn't be a problem, I have just been told that my pacemaker is scheduled for 25th July so 7 weeks before I fly is that enough t...

Travel to France

I have had my pacemaker for two years and have travelled throughout the US and Canada. In a few days, my wife and I will go to France (Tauck tour).  This will involve time in Paris and onto Normandy on a Seine river cruise.  I am experienced with what to encounter at airports with my pacemaker but we will also visit historic places in Paris and along the cruise route.  Any suggestions on what I might encounter when entering such places and when leaving and returning to the rive...

HR Increase

I am struggling. I just had a Medtronic pacer put in last Tuesday (May 16). This is my first pacer and going through some depression and worries.  I was given the duel lead pacer for sick sinus that all started 10 years ago when the node was damaged during the Maze open heart  procedure to cure my Afib which it did for 10 years. Any way..prior to the pacer my HR at rest was 50 - never light headed, never passed out but was having pauses and very low HR at night. Basically the node w...

Pacemaker with myocardiol bridge

I had my pacemaker procedure last September after finding my resting heart rate was always low.

I have not felt "great" ever since. I have had stress tests, xrays, etc.

I just recently went to the hospital for chest pain again, and after a cath they found that I have a midocondondrial bridge.

This makes me wonder if my heart was self regulating, cause the low rate prior.

Now I'm on a beta blocker to lower my heart rate?

Anyone...

Pacemaker Types

I have had 3 pacemakers so far, with the first Medtronic Dual Chamber being implanted in 2001 after septicemia caused total heart block when I was 40.  Prior to that, I had zero 'medical' history other than 3 normal pregnancies.

The second pacemaker (also dual chamber Medtronic) was implanted 2006.

The third pacemaker, this time a Sorin single chamber was implanted in 2015.  One of the leads from the Medtronic pacemakers never did work, but since I have never had...
