that could be better yet .
A forum so good, IMO, that sections should be daily mandatory reading for cardio- nurses and doctors .. As to "better" , we need MUCH , MUCH more participation .. and responses , even if only a "thank you" .
Special thanks to Tracey and the knot guy and others , who have been so helpful to PM users.

Hi everyone! You have been a Great source of Strength for Me! I am a Pastor/Contractor. I had My Biotonik (Eluna) PM installed 11/27/15. I followed all the rules and feel great! I have a simple question. When I Speak at Church, I wear a wireless Microphone with a Battery Pack. I haven't spoken Since I had the surgery. Will this wireless Mic. effect My Pacemaker? Is it dangerous in any way? Just Wondering! By the way I have a monitor next to My Bed. I crack My Wife Up as I run by it to get into B...

Very early this morning , I arrived at an airport in Spain to fly back home to England.
I stood a few yards in front of the metal detector, caught the security guy's eye and pointed to my left clavicle ( as we do ).
He approached me and asked to see my pacemaker card in what I assume was his best attempt at English.
Being sleep-deprived , my brain wasn't really in gear so I fumbled in my wallet and gave him a supermarket loyalty card ( for UK readers it wa...

wonder if pacemaker is working right ? next check up later this month... have sudden weak, weak spells that last only a few seconds, but are worrisome. Dr says that I would really have weak spells if it was not for pacemaker .... does this appear normal ? will make appointment with Dr. as he put me off for 9 months.. don't feel comfortable waiting this long.

Am speaking on behalf for my husband. Due to his frequent short breath he had. Thus the doc had a surgery on him to install the pacer and found it improves his breathing works well. But then a month ago he has infected some kind of virus and admitted for further investigations. But then we were told the pacer has to be remove from my husband body worrying that some unseen hidden virus may cause more problems. Therefore am seeking an advise whether to remove it and again to reinstall back again...

I was just about to purchase one of these having been reminded by my partner that our existing Ceramic hob only has 3 hobs working and I had said we would get a new one several months ago.
By chance I read that Induction hobs and pacemakers are a problem in close proximity.
Do you guys know whether this is actually an issue, something left over from back in the day, or perhaps the usual over cautious advice we get that would keep us in our bath chairs for the rest of our d...

this is a first post - not sure if my new pacemaker model is shown so that others will know if it can adapt - St Jude pm2240
Getting used to the PM. Resting heart rate has been around 50bpm for many years. Diagnosed with Mobitz Type II block. The last time it happened I passed out.
My new pm was set to an apparent default rate of 60bpm.
I've cycled year round for over 27 years and generally average 80%+ of my max heart rate for the majority of a ride. I'm 72.

Hi Everyone
Just found this site today
I had a pm installed Dec. 10, 2015. I went to the heart Doc because my blood pressure kept going up. He put the monitor on me for 24 hours and the next day said my pulse rate dropped to 29 bpm. He wanted to install a pm that night.
I'm 74 and in good health. He said that after the pm was installed, I should feel like I'm 50 again.
The procedure went great, no pain, no swelling, etc.
My only problem is, I have less energy after the...

I posted this 5 years ago:
"Our 11 year old daughter has double inlet left ventricle with the Fontan repair and complete heart block. She got her first pacemaker at age 5, and had surgery in '08 (atrial lead + new pacemaker); '09 (ventricular lead replacement) and again just on 8/9/10 to implant her third pacemaker and another new ventricular lead. Post-op visit indicated that her threshold was 4, and they can't double that to set the preferred safety margin of 8 -- pacemaker only goe...

I am a 60 year old man, retired, living overseas. In Feb 2015 I had a routine physical at a local high quality hospital. During the EKG they found an irregularity and brought in cardiologists to discuss it with me. BACKGROUND => I had had irregular EKGs for many many years, bundled branch, etc. At one time about 12 years ago while living in Hawaii, after an irregular heartbeat was picked up on an EKG, the Internal Medicine Dr. told me I had to see a cardiologist immediately!! That cardiolo...

Hey guys - hope you are all well....
I had my 2nd P.m. yesterday.... all seems ok, just sore and bruised and swollen...
When they checked me prior to having the change, they said something about the old pm going into some sort of emergency mode, and had I been feeling well recently?
No, haven't been feeling at all well.... really out of breath (just walking) and very tired..... so cross that perhaps they should have done the change over a few months ago....

I want to know if Can St Jude's Pacemaker PM2210 provide a recording of a specific time period. In order to find out if the pacemaker mal-functioned or some interference from external magnetic field or anything like that caused a problem, it would be helpful to get a report of heart function for a specific time period. Is that possible to obtain from St Jude's Pacemaker PM2210? How can that be done? Thank you very much.

Hi!
I'll be assisting a surgical procedure in the next few weeks. Will the electrocautery affect my pacemaker if I am the surgeon's assistant?
Couldn't find topics about this so I had to ask.
Plus, should I avoid doing chest compressions for the meantime and opt for ambubagging? Im about 16 weeks out. I'm scared I might damage my leads if I do chest compressions.
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I had an atrial pacemaker implanted in 2000 after an ablation of the sinus node and another in 2009. I'm due another box change and my electro physiologist has said that I will have an upgrade to a dual chamber as I now have left bundle branch block. Has anyone upgraded from a single to dual pacemaker?
