EF

EF is ejection fraction, or how efficiently the heart is pumping. Normal is 50-60, so when your heart squeezes (beats), it's only pushing through about half the blood that it should. The CRT can't make the heart beat harder, but it can synchronize the left and right ventricles which can improve EF. How do you feel? Some people feel ok with a low EF, others are easily fatigued and dizzy. If you feel good, you can probably wait, but if it's slowing you down and keeping you from enjoying life, you might want to consider it.

i had the procedure almost 2 years ago at 67. i have cardiomyopathy, LBBB and my EF had dropoed to 10-15 with no symptoms. but both my electrophysiologist and cardiologist recommended the procedure.

my EF has icreased to 35-40. i am blessed. the procedure was easy and i feel great. best of luck. send me a private message if you have more questions.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
