I have had A-fib twice now that I know of that wouldn't stop. Had to go into the hospital and they did cardioconversion. Might have it other times but 2 times would not stop. I also have a slow heartbeat usually in low 50's. I have Bradycardia with sometimme 2.4, 2.7 sec pauses. Heart rate sometimes goes in 30's when sleeping. Sinus Bradycardia with blocked PAC. Recently went to electrocardiologist and he said also I need a pacemaker. He wouldn't do an abaltion for the A-fib until I ha...

I have an appointment next week. It is supposed to be automatic. The Merlin reads my pacemaker every morning between 3am and 5 am
What is the difference between that and this scheduled appointment? Do I have to be in the bedroom near the Merlin longer / or what / or just do nothing?

I have been visiting this site for a month now and it has been extremely informative. I thank God for it. But I have searching for this month for people with something in common with the issue I currently have. I have Heart Block, but I am unlike most on here (who have a heart block), who have 3rd degree Heart Block. I have 2nd Degree Mobitz II Block and will be fitted with a PM sometime this coming month and I have so many questions before I go for it.

Recently I was switched from DDD(R) to Rythmic (Boston Scientific's reverse-mode-switching algorithm). I had great expectations but unfortunately I've experienced an increase in RV pacing: guessing 2 to 4 times as much as before the switch. Left me scratching my head until I remembered my Boston Scientific tech mention something about a PVC triggering a mode switch. I do have frequent PACs / PVCs from time to time and did a little looking around and found this among several other similar stud...

A while back I posted about substances that could stop bleeding. I have had some around for years while I was taking the anticoagulants Warfarin, then Pradaxa, and now Xarelto, but never needed it for minor cuts and scrapes. Well......I managed to slice the back of my left thumb (don't ask) and was bleeding like the proverbial stuck pig. Realizing that she did not want me to bleed all over her car on the way to the ER to get sutured, my wife reminded me about the "WoundSeal" I keep in my

I haven't post in some 4 years. I think I posted right after I had my pacemaker inserted 4 years. I was down to say the least but like most (if not all) of you I live my life exactly the way I used to with my pacemaker.
When people ask what were my symptoms and why I needed a pacemaker I always make it seem very simple.'' I just blacked out one day. Had tests done. Nothing. Wore a holter for a day and Mobitz Type II...pacemaker. '' Which is kind of true.
But when I think back about the...

What is that. Usually when I feel my heartbeat it is above breast . I have felt everything but Sunday when my heart went crazy and started racing it was the wierdest thing I have ever felt. It was racing underneath. Is that normal?

Name is Jerimi 29 former member of the Army. How I discovered I had a serious heart condition was after a major head surgery the result of a accident in the military. When I was young I had a funny heart beat but grew out of it, so I thought. After my surgery I ignored what was going on until I collapsed at work and my heart doctor ordered a bunch of test. I told him that had been having issues with irregular heartbeat and constant chest pain. That's when he noticed that my heart was stopping 5...

So I was at work and suddenly felt like I was gonna black out and then my heart went crazy. Weird thing is is that it was beating super fast under my breast and I felt horrible. I did forget to take my Metropolol today but it is only 12.5 mg a day twice a day. Not sure if that was it or the face that I have been on xarelto for a few weeks and they gave me pradaxa over the weekend until I get more xarelto on Monday. When I took the pradaxa I felt funny last night.
Mabey just a coincidence.

Hi everyone
I would like to know how many of you have to take Xeralto and which side-effects have you experienced? Reading about the side -effects on the internet is VERY discouraging! Also side-effects on beta-blockers?
I am at 6 weeks after PM and checking in with my cardiologist this coming week... I am taking 2.5mg beta-blocker, seems to keep tachy under control.... dr will still decide whether I will have to take Xeralto, I am petrified that he will prescribe it for me...

Hi,
I'm 36year old female and have had a pacemaker and ICD implanted in the last 2 weeks. It was a bit of a shock to me as someone who trains daily if not twice a day and generally looks after myself. My HR was 32bpm at rest and had been for around 8 months, whilst I slept it was around 18bpm. I had continued to train and noticed Inwas extremely fatigued (assumed it was long shifts) and I was dizzy most of the time but again assumed it was a lack of sugar... Anyway, I a routine medical at w...

Weird Thing. I have a nice Fossil Wrist Watch that I wear occasionally. Well, when I put it on this morning the time was correct. By noon today it was 45 minutes off. Kept loosing time all day. So I thought that was strange. Took it off, set the time to the correct time and sat it away from me. Well it has been an hour and the time is still correct. Weird huh. So do you think it is my pacemaker making my watch slow down? Any one experience anything like that?

I had a Medtronic dual chamber pacemaker implanted on 10/12/15.
I had the incision checked by my surgeon yesterday, 10/15/15, and per his advice removed the bandage today.
How soon can I shower and is it safe to let water run on the incision?
Also; I am diabetic and my blood sugar has been high. I have a stationary exercise bike(handlebars don't move). Is it safe to use it this soon after the implant was done?

mode switch at ERI, not EOL

I'm coming up on the end of another battery and I'm confused about something the rep said. If I understood correctly, there will be a mode switch when it goes to ERI, rate response is going to turn off but everything else would stay the same. So, is it going to go from DDDR to DDD? He most definitely said ERI, not EOL, and he wasn't in a rush to schedule the replacement, didn't even move up my next appointment (3 months), just said to call him if I start having trouble working out. I've never fe...

Hi my name is Brittini and I recently had my second device implanted as well as an additional lead. I originally had a single lead ventricular pacer, after an underlying heart condition was found after a venomous snake bite when I was 17, due to a 22 second asystole.
My pacer generator was at the end of life so my new cardiologist decided to do a tilt table test before changing my device. My tilt was positive so he decided to implant an atrial lead as well.
My question is:...

Although I don't have my device yet I wanted to join because this looks like a very helpful group. Had 3rd heart cath in about 5 years on 9-25-15. All 3 have been clear but I have a left bundle branch block, chf & leaky mitral valve and an EF of 25%. Met with electro cardiologist on 10-9-15 who told me the entire left side of my heart is not working at all. Unable to take beta blockers due to past side effects so they have me on Lasix, potassium & 2.5 mg lisinopril. If a NP I saw in September...
