I have just returned from my regular Sunday morning run in the woods . The sun was shining , the skies are blue , trees and flowers are in bud, the pacemaker is working well and I wasn't bitten by any dogs .
Life doesn't get much better than this ,especially when I settle down with a pot of coffee afterwards and read the Sunday newspaper.
and then what do I read :-

Another jumping pacemaker
Comment posted by ajp on 2015-03-20 12:46.
Two years ago, my St Jude pacemaker began literally jumping in my chest. You could actually see the pacemaker hopping up and down under the skin. This began this as I was getting up from a chair and turning off the TV. I had been watching televison (led 40 inch Samsung) from a distance of about 4 feet. There were no induction coils, magnetic devices or other tools or appliances operating nearby.

Induction Stoves

I just read an article about the development of stoves that use induction heat.
In an induction cooker, a coil of copper wire is placed under the cooking pot and an alternating electric current is passed through it. The resulting oscillating magnetic field induces a magnetic flux  which repeatedly magnetizes the pot, treating it like a lossy magnetic core of a transformer. This produces large eddy currents in the ferrous pot, which because of the resistance of the pot, heats it.

Wish I'd found ya'll a couple weeks ago ! I just had my single-lead ICD installed by the VA Medical Center in OKC last Thursday (3/12/15), and so far, so good ! My follow-up was great, I'm healing well, and for the first time since my peripartum cardiomyopathy (i.e., pregnancy-related heart failure) in 2000, my heart rhythm looks like it was machine-stitched, it was so even.
Still, there are a few hitches so far in my recovery, so I look forward to learning the ropes from my seniors-...

I am getting a AV node ablation done for AFib , the cardiologist is going to put in the duel biventricular pacemaker first, then do the ablation about 5 weeks later, is this a good idea or would it be better to have it all done at once?

Hello, I'm new and trying to study up. I have had a medtronics revo sure scan pacemaker installed for two years. I have been going downhill ever since. Before it was installed the ef ratio was 65% and I was 68 years old with no other problems. I developed a irregular heartbeat and in feb of 2013 I passed out with low heart rate. The cardiologist had tested me and decided in december of 2012 things were ok until I fainted in feb. He put the pacemaker in the first of march 2013. On the subsequent...

Hello Everyone, This is my first time here. I do not have a pacemaker yet but I am waiting for my surgery date any day now. I have to admit I am very scared. I am 59 and have had a 3 1/2 hour failed ablation a couple of years ago I have psvt that over the years has turned in to other complications with psvt attacks lasting 1-4 hours I had the surgery all set 3 weeks ago and they cancelled it the night before stating they wanted me to go see another ablation doctor. That doctor stated that I hav...

How does the doc decide which brand, make and model of pm to use? I received a Tesla instead of a Prius. Is it determined by the age of the Glenlivet the rep sends over for St. Paddy's Day?

Hi all! I've been away for awhile - beating away, he, he,he....
Today is my PM's 3rd birthday and wanted to share with all you newbies that you will heal and your heart will not beat less than 60 beats any longer. I did get overzealous 4 months after surgery and caused an impingement on my left shoulder during a workout so be careful a little bit longer.
In these last three years, life has happened. There have been happy times, stressful/panicky times and sad times...

The subject of blood stop products for cuts came up in an earlier thread about blood thinners, and I thought it might have gotten lost in the long string of comments, so I am starting a new post on it. There are several I found, but the below site had one of the better lists and explanations of products. CVS and Walgreens carry WoundSeal on their sites, so it appears to be readily available. Woundseal even states it is recommended for people on blood thinners.

Posted a couple days ago about B-i-L getting surprissed by a PM implant immediately after having a fistula prepared for potential kidney dialysis.
Sister called me tonight. Suddenly suffering severe chest pains in center of chest. Echo sched for AM. feeling generally crappy & lost appetite.after feeling good yesterday.
Sounds like potential Pericarditis. Whether or not that's it, he's still in bad shape - bad diabetes, kidney failure verging on needing dialysis, o...

Does anyone ever feel like a cool breeze blowing down your leg. This happens on the leg that I had a vessel taken out when I had by-pass surgery. Sometimes it is right at the top of the leg and sometimes it's at the front of the calf---but it's always on the left leg---the leg they took the vessel out of for the by-pass.This has been going on for about a month--I guess. I had by-pass about 8 years ago, so I don't think it has anything to do with the surgery. Any input would be appreciated. T...

Hi
Why would my EP suggest the ablation of both the S.A Node and the A.V Node for occasional AF. Would the ablation of the S.A Node stop AF in the Atrial? I thought that ablation in the ventricle was all that was required.
Cheers Roy
