Merry Christmas, to all...

....or Happy Holidays, as the season you celebrate is recognized.

As a Christian, I like to share the joy of our holidays; why should we keep our happiness to ourselves? Would you prefer that we wish you a miserable day? How about a "Bah! Humbug!"? Or perhaps a "Go suck a rotten cobra egg!"?

It is our mandate to share with the world, regardless of faith. Like the man on the road to Samaria who fell amongst thieves & was left to die, we stop to help the fallen w/o ask...

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays etc etc

Enjoy this holiday and congrats to all of us who are still here and operating due to our little implanted friends and a quiet reflective thought for those who are not. We have much to be thankful for if we simply take the time to see that.

Wishing you all the best and keep pacing.

World’s smallest pacemaker implanted successfully

http://www.cbc.ca/1.2864706

The Foothills Medical Centre is one of three hospital in Canada — and one of 55 internationally — involved in evaluating these devices, which are about an inch long and approximately the width of a pencil.

Aside from the smaller size, the device known as a leadless pacemaker has several advantages over the standard pacemaker:

It is inserted non-surgically, which is less invasive and has a faster healing time.
It also has a low...

pacemaker

HI.. I am 53 and 4 years ago I had an ASD/PFO repair with an amplatzer closure device. It took almost a year and a half to diagnose. At first I just felt off and told the doctor I think something is wrong. I was tired all the time, had developed breathing issues. All the test cameback negative. Once the holes were discovered I went downhill quickly prior to the closure. I felt better for awhile, last year I started feeling off again. I was exhausted all the time, hard time breathing, and gain...

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all aBlessed Christmas. I sit here now with tears streaming down my face. Cannot sort out exactly why. Last Christmas night was my total collapse said to be SCA which resulted in plastic surgery to my face, damage and restoration of 7 teeth and pacemaker implant. Tears of remembrance of that horrid experience or tears of joy that I am here to celebrate another Christmas. Tears of joy as I hear my son playing the music that he, his wife and I will sing at 11pm service. Tears of...

Sleeping with a Pacemaker

Hi All,
I just got my PM on 11/7/14 and still trying to sleep comfortably. I used to sleep on my belly but that's out now. I hate sleeping on my back but my bottom hurts after a while. I usually end up on my sides, mainly the right because the left stings. I bought a body pillow that has helped with a modified belly position but still haven't found the right position.

Any suggestions?? Thanks

2 leads vs 3 leads for a 42 year healthy female

I'm a 42 yr old female in complete heart block since Nov 12 after an ablation for SVT. I'm in need of a pacemaker - I have been told by 3 different Dr's that they would suggest a bi-ventricular pacemaker with 3 leads...from what I understand they believe that this 3rd lead will prevent heart failure long-term - since I will be using the pacer at all times...they want both sides of the heart pacing the same.

And I have 1 Dr who said to do the Dual pacemaker and just use 2 leads - beli...

Grateful

It is three days before Christmas and I have been feeling particularly grateful, extremely happy and at peace. When I look back to last year, I was miserable but didn't know what the problem was. For two years I suffered from near fainting, trouble breathing, night sweats, constant fatigue . I had to even stop talking to my family about it, they were beginning to think I was a hypochondriac. I went to every specialist I could. My pulmonologist suggested I take tranquilizers; it was all i...

Micra Transcatheter pace maker

On December 15, I received the Micra pacemaker. My situation is different than what I have read in other posts. I have A-fib with high blood pressure and high pulse rate in the 90's when I am sitting. When told about the Micra, it took me 5 second to decide, as my heart could not continue to beat at 170 or higher when walking. If medicine controlled my blood pressure, my heart rate would increase, controlling my heart rate caused my blood pressure to drop. Six days into life with...

Complete Heart Block Post Ablation

Help! I went through an ablation on Nov 12 for SVT - I now have complete heart block. I'm being told that this will probably not resolve on its own...has anyone ever heard of Complete Heart Block resoloving on it's own?

I'm almost 6 weeks post-ablation - and I've seen 5 Drs - telling me that a pacemaker is the best option for me. I have no symptoms- no dizziness, etc - my resting heart rate fluctuates between 45-58bpm....and the highest I've reached during exercise is 105bpm -I a...

PAC's

Hey everyone,

My situation is very complex, but I'm desperate for some feedback about what has been happening the last few days. Two days ago, I started having an influx of what I knew were PAC's. I've had them many times, as well as PVC's, but this is all new. I didn't think anyone could survive PAC storms like this. It is bizarre. First came a couple, then a few. Now, I have been having what I can only describe as "clusters." It feels like my heart is convulsing inside my chest for...

after effects of Pacemaker installation

i live in Bournemouth, England and in addition to 7 stents over the last 10 years I was told, following a 24 hour ECG check, that I needed a Pacemaker. I had no particular reason , that I knew of, for wanting a Pacemaker, but had one installed in mid January 2014
Within 2 months I started to feel giddy/ unsteady - almost as though I had a permanent hangover - (no such luck !!)
My Pacemaker was checked -no problem My blood pressure also checked - no problem. My ear balance mecha...

Pain

Hello again!

Haven't been on here for a wee while. I keep getting pain in my left side at my pacemaker site, but more so in my left hand. Exercise seems to make it work.

Do you think I should see about it. Don't want to waste peoples time :-(
