Hi All,
I just got my PM on 11/7/14 and still trying to sleep comfortably. I used to sleep on my belly but that's out now. I hate sleeping on my back but my bottom hurts after a while. I usually end up on my sides, mainly the right because the left stings. I bought a body pillow that has helped with a modified belly position but still haven't found the right position.
Any suggestions?? Thanks

I got my PM on Feb. 4 2014, and my CPAP in March. Sleeping on my back at first, but very soon with PM and CPAP I could sleep slightly on sides, then exactly on sides, and lately - "drum roll !!!" - I can actually sleep on my stomach with my head to either right or left even with my CPAP total nose and mouth mask on.
I just punch a floppy pillow under my shoulders and neck and head keep it under the ear line so my mouth and nose on the mask are free. I can lift up my shoulders slightly and change from left to right, punching the pillow in place and whipping my CPAP hose around to the correct side. Where there's a will, there's a way! This stomach position was possible even after about 7 weeks following a hysterectomy, summer 2014, with 6 other prolapse, etc. procedures plus an abdominal hernia incision. Keep trying, but give yourself a couple more months for your body to heal. Also, keeping your body in condition for your age and weight helps the muscles cope.

I usually sleep on my side. I can't sleep on my back, even with a CPAP. I place a small pillow between my knees, eliminates back problems. I saw a "CPAP pillow" for $50 on TV. It was a foam pillow in the shape of a "T". It is supposed to allow you to sleep on your side and the cut-out allows the CPAP mask a place to rest without putting enough pressure on it to break the seal between your face and the mask. I took a knife to my foam pillow, saved 50 bucks! As for sleeping on my stomach, I can't sleep on mine but I can sleep on someone elses!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.

Sleeping with a pillow under your knees should help you when sleeping on your back. I've recently had to learn to sleep on my back due to CPAP machine.
