I am new to this site. I have a medtronics pm/defib device. I bought a new phone and have problems with static and cutting out on the other end. I hear them fine. They can't here me. I have called my phone company. These do something but it still continues. Could this interference be caused by my device?

Hi All (especially Pammy),
It's a simple question, unfortunately blessed with countless answers: With a 2:1 exercise induced HB, should I get a PM implanted to fix it?
I know it is a decision only I can make, but I am looking for opinions from people who have already had such decisions to make, as they will be well informed of the pros and cons.
No other problems apart from not being able to raise HR above 140ish BPM without incurring the 2:1 HB.

Reviewed data from my event monitor last month. A couple times a week I get a very irregular pulse, sometimes for just a very short time, sometimes longer. The short times are easily ignored, the longer ones are quite unsettling. His conclusion was no evidence of underlying heart disease, a very normal sinus rhythm most of the time, and nothing life threatening. I average a little over 300 PVCs a day and usually don't know it unless they are clustered together in a "run". He gave me a script for...

Happy New Year 2014!
I have a new St Jude PM2210, 1388T/46, 1346T/52
It was installed on Dec. 20th. Easy surgery but could not walk the dog without being short of breath.
On Dec. 31st they activated the sensor for my activity. My pacer is set at 70 but it has been around 90 (when quiet) and 125 after a slow walk. It does not returned to 70 unless it is in the middle of the night. My BP is also up to 190 at night now. It is a holiday so I get no help from Scripps Clinic here...

I didn't know what to title this! Can someone tell me if PVC, PAC and Palpitations are the same thing? (I do know PAC originate from the Atrium and PVC the Ventricle). I am asking because the EP turned off my pm last week so we could use a holter monitor to try to capture some of what I still feel with my heart. I can't describe it so I think it is frustrating he doctor (I know it is frustrating me) anyhow, I did a google search on some of the feelings (flipping, squeezing etc) and those three t...

Syncope Symptoms before Pacer Replacement

HI: Going through the month to month pacer check until I hit time for replacement. Starting to get some major syncope issues (burning chest, dizzyness, night sweats).
Does that mean I'm nearing replacement time?
Is this what other people felt when they went through this?
Note that I'm on an old Guidant and it's known for not being 100% accurate on battery life, thus the month to month checks.
Thanks!

I was just reading some of the past posts and comments from members of this site dated back as far year 2005. I then check on to see if there are any recent or new comments from them. There are none. Where did they all go?

I've spent a month in Asia visiting my son. This was the first time I'd flown since my PM implant in August. Used the convention as suggested by many on here. Preferrably let the person know before the scanner or if no one there (as was the case in Kuala Lumpur) I looked through the scanner at operative and tapped the PM. Everything worked just great in Manchester, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The most bizarre though was my first pat down at Manchester. Guy called me through and patted me d...

Most magnets do not have enough magnetic pull or force (whatever you would like to call it) to have little or any effect on you.. The ones that will effect you is the rare earth magnets..they are very strong and will have an effect on you just like the ones the nurses use when you go in to have a PM check. but still they have to be right on top of your PM..so there is not to much to worry about just remember the 6" rule and you will be just fine...

I am very blessed at this time of year. One more day of 2013 and 2014 is here for a whole year. What will it bring???? Hoping everybody is happy, healthy (as much as you can be) and wise beyond your years. On Wednesday (NYD) it will be 5 weeks since my 5th PM was put in. I feel wonderful and living life to the fullest. Went back to work not even a week after the surgery.

Hi All,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Colleen,I am 47, and I've had my pacemaker for 6 weeks and I am LOVING life. I am a Cardiac Rehab nurse....ironic, I know. I've always had a low heart rate in the 40's as well as a low blood pressure in the 90/50 range. Dizziness, feeling tired and cold have always been a way of life. I've had several major syncopal spells throughout my life, but the doctors always kind of blew me off...maybe it's hormones or low blood sugar.

When the tilt table test is performed and you flat line, what exactly does that mean? All other tests, Holter, Echo, EKG were within normal limits.
Thanks for info.
