Hi all. I'm 6 1/2 weeks PO and my incision site has turned bright red. It is completely healed. No infection. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen to their incision site. Perhaps it's a normal reaction to using the left arm again and it is irritation from where PM rubs by armpit? Thanks everyone.

We had our family reunion. Was great. Had 87 people that came. All my brothers and sisters, there kids and there grandkids. Some on them that I never had seen before.
Health wise, was doing great up to the 10th of July. That is when I ripped my picc line out half way and ended up in the ER to have a new one put in. It took two times. Wasn't happy with that along with the idea that the ER roo...

Hi & Welcome.
I've noticed a lot of new members recently and when I first received my pacemaker in 2004 I had a zillion questions. I found this article and I post it from time to time as I found it helped me a lot. It's a long read, but full of really good information.
If I remember correctly, I got it either from WebMD or the Mayo Clinic website. Like I mentioned - It's a long read, but it just might help you feel a bit better :)

I know death is gonna happen; we can't live forever, but since I have joined this group I have lost DairyPrincess one week before we were to meet in Minnesota. Then there was the gentleman of all gentlemen - Peter Nash (who nominated me for the Newsletter in 2009). Then the one & only Electric Frank who will always be in everyone's thoughts probably forever and my dear dear friend Billie (Blue Australia).
I (as well as many others here) had relationships with each of them, unique i...

Hi folks! I have been lurking around here for a couple of weeks and have found the postings to be most enlightening and calming. I do not yet have a device but feel the time is soon. I have been experiencing SVT episodes for several years but over the last year they have become much more frequent and violent. I had an ablation in February that resulted in the freezing type of procedure because of the location of the errant pathway. It was an over five hour procedure. The procedure held for five...

Hi all. I managed to injure my pectoral muscle under PM at 4 wks PO. I promised to report back how it is going. I saw my PM clinic yesterday for a check and Everything is A-OK with PM. That is great news. After injury I thought it wasn't functioning properly as I had some relapse of shortness of breath and some night episodes of waking from shortage of O2. That only lasted a couple days though. Lots of pain and swelling in PM site and entire pec area from armpit to breast bone. I was seen b...

Morning, from a sunny UK !
Just thinking about my holiday (still 3mths away but...............)
We are off to S Africa again & my partner would like me to go up Table Mountain with him (obviously not climbing) as he has been & the views are pretty spectacular.
Would there be a problem do you think? l am sure my little metal buddy would be fine but my heart isn't the most healthy specimen due to replacement valve, Afib 100% of the time & there were "mutterings" when l had my echo d...

Hello all. My 2yr. old son will be going next week for his pacemaker surgery. I just wanted to see if there is anyone with young children who have undergone this surgery and have any helpful hints. Obviously, he is too young to understand what will take place. If there is anything that anyone can share about helping to get a young child through this, helpful hints, or things to know about recovery, I am all ears and would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom. Thank you in advance!

So I have answered a few questions on here and I feel that actually this community wants its members to be those with pacemakers, which I understand. I had a few private messages though from people who did want to pick my brain which was nice and i was happy to help.
Any way I have my blog which is fairly new but is aimed at making Pacemakers and all things related very simple without the Jargon that technicians normally talk in!
Feel free to have a look, comment and if you...

Had an echo, chest X-ray, and device setting change 2 days ago. All is well, all I needed was a device setting change. The next day I went to a friends lakeside cottage and spent the day swimming ( with one arm only) and boating and feel great again. Two more weeks until all restrictions are lifted. Can't wait.

I think we can solve many of our problems IF only we can understand all of the necessary setting parameters in the PM that is needed for our own cases. The problem is there are too many freaking parameters and combinations and way too confusing for each of the parameter for what it does. 1 wrong parameter or combination set can make you feel awful. I'm frustrated with the enormous complexity of the parameters and/or combinations. I'm new to this thing in my body (since March this year), and...

Has anyone recieved a message from Miss Rita Benson from the Ivory Coast West Africa. Her post read to the effect that she has 6.5 million dollars she wants to put inyo my account. Sounds like she will be needing my bank account number for that. No one should NEVER,NEVER give any account or personal to anyone!
