Has anyone had to replace their pulmonary valve twice? I had to. They found pannus on the valve. Has anyone ever heard of that? Then after 48 hrs from surgery they said I went into A flutter. They couldn’t fix it because they found it too late. So they are going to fix it later and through the pacemaker first and they also have other options too.
Just wondering if anyone went through something similar.

My cardiologist say's my RV is pacing 95% or more and it will likely lead to congestive heart failure by which time I'll be too old for a heart transplant.
Has anyone else been told this?

Came down with pain and infection in my jaw, went to Er as they state not to seek Dental assistance for 90 days. I was given Penicillin and pain meds, but I really don't know if I have to wait to seek dental help, can anyone tell me?? trapper

Hi All,
I've had my PM now for just over 4 weeks and am yet to have a good day since the operation... I'm currently away on holiday at the moment and over the past few days I haven't felt very well at all. I'm having some dizzy spells but my main concern at the moment is that I'm having a LOT of pain in what feels like my heart.. It started after I pushed myself off of the bed - I felt something in my shoulder where the PM is click and since then the PM scar has become reddened (looks...

I've only had my PM since 10/20/11. I'm recovering easily from the incision, everything looks good there. My problem is with the swelling I have in my neck, breast, left arm and underarm. I also feel numbness and tingling in those areas and right over the incision site. Even just going to church made it swell. I'm also having a lot of pain in my shoulder, especially if I get cold at all. I've had an ultrasound to determine there is no blood clots. Am I just being overly anxious, or should I be w...

I have a problem with anemia and when my blood counts get low I tend to have more heart problems. I started to notice that I was getting more of my tachycardia (I have atria tachycardia which resulted in AV node ablation and pacemaker) so I went in to my hematologist and sure enough I was low. I was sent to the hospital to get 2 units of blood. After the first unit I started to feel awful. Very lightheaded. My blood pressure had actually dropped to 90’s/50’s. I told the nurse...

Wow, what a month. I went for my pm operation on October 6th, then by October 10th lots & lots of redness and soreness. Went to doctor, she thought cellulitus around pm. Next day- heart doctor...thought maybe allergy to steri strips. October 13th...high temp, emergency room. Long story short - PM had to be removed. Massive infection. ICU and part isolation until they figured out the cause.
Staph Lugdunensis(SL) was the culprit, and probably introduced during...

After my fourth ablation over 2 years ago and on my third PM in was in sinus rythmn for the first time in almost 20 years. Well as could be predicted I am back in atrail fibulation. This time its cronic ( all the time). I am back on blood thinners but I am having trouble deciding what to do next.
My local cardiologist wants me to go on amiodrone and in so many words forget about it. Blood thinners and amiodrone for the rest of my like does not seem like a good long term solution. I am only...

I've got a biventicular pacemaker.

I am new to the group, so I will give a brief history before asking my question. I am a 28 y/o female who had no health issues and was working hard in my 2nd year of neurosurgery residency when my whole world turned upside down. It started one day when I passed out at work. This was about 10 months ago, since then I have had alternating episodes of bradycardia and tachycardia with multiple syncopal episodes. I was unable to work and ultimately had to resign my position due to my medical posit...

Hi , my name is Sylvia. I'm 38 yrs old with a husband and a 17 yr old son. I got my bi ventricular device put in on July Th 2011. When he went to put me in to defib, I wouldn't come out of it... they had to shock me 15 times to get my heart back to regular beats.
I'm in CONSTANT pain where my incision site is and on the side of my left breast. Surgeon says everything is fine. BULLCRAP!
I hurt all the time! my heart doc did a echo last month and ejection fraction rate is still at 15% ....

So here is my story. I had my pm implanted unexpectantly in March of 2008. As soon as i came out of surgery I was in serious pain, which can be expected after any surgery. The thing is though, is that this pain never went away. This pain is a constant, sharp, stabbing pain in the middle of my chest. It always hurts but the intensity goes up and down. If I do anything with any effort I have to sit and rest for the next day or so because of the pain. No pain medications even touched the pain. I ha...

After swimming and showering, I started noticing "rusting" along my scar from chest surgery --- brown splotches here and there. I was wondering if somehow the chlorine was rusting out surgical wire.
The splotches would fade until the next time I went swimming.
After some weeks, I realized that, even though the chest surgery was more than a year earlier, the splotches were from glue residue from the tape they used to put me back together.
Seems I had carefully avo...

I had a (Boston Scientific) pacemaker implanted six months ago. A couple of weeks ago, I became aware of a dull, localized, lingering, sensation just below the surface of my chest area -- not a pain, but a feeling as if someone very lightly touched his or her finger tip on a point roughly midway between my incision site and my left breast (I am a male). I experience the sensation most of the time now; feel it whatever my heart rate is (which, in a typical day, can vary from the minimum setting o...
