Just a message for general information, and to ask whether anybody else has learnt of this.
A friend recently opurchased a new set of Hatton scales. They give your accurate weight and give a lot of other details, which are obtained by electric impulse.
They have a warning on them not to be used by persons with PM's
Why can't I do that?

Hi had my dual chamber pacemaker fitted 6 weeks ago, it sits on top of my right pec just under the skin. I am already weight lifting at 100%effort but with new routines. I wish to body board etc with my kids is there any kind of padding you buy for protection or is it a case of making something.
Oh and great site,
I had AV block with heart slowing or stopping, it seems good now.
The site is a very valuable source, thank you.

I showed my card and the lady was rude she started shaking the wand...I kept backing up and said stop.......she said I can wand you below the waist don't worry.....I let her know I wasn't taking any chances.....I had never had my defibular go off...and I sure wasn't taking a chance it would....maybe I over reacted...but it was only out of fear if I did. Was she right as long as she did below the waist I was safe?

Hello to all on this fabulous site!
I recieved my pacemaker on the 16th april 08, i'm 30 years of age and after fainting on the 12th april got admitted to hospital, scared out of my wits. Couldn't believe that I was going to be fitted with one, it was a total shock.
My boyfriend found this site for me and I log on to it on a daily basis now and decided to join.
Think I am still in shock from the whole experience of it all.
I feel better than I did a few weeks ago, but still n...

Welcome to the new members here. How nice it is to come on and see 3 new ones all at the same time. Please enjoy the site ask all the questions you can think of because there are a lot of very informed people on here.
Now my question...
I know this has been asked before but I have forgotten the answers. I just got a new cell phone. It is Bluetooth capable. Is it ok to use it on my left side?

Hello to everyone,
My name is Sue R. and I have had my pacemaker for about 5 years or so now. I had a very slow heartbeat and when I was sleeping my heartbeat would slow down even more, (as you all know anyways) but so slow I would stop breathing.(I also have sleep apnea so have machine for that at night) I was always tired and didn't want to do anything. Everything just made me tired. I am happy with my pacemaker because it won't let it go below 60 and I have more energy to keep up with m...

I have now had my pacemaker for eight years and the sad thing is that my doctor, Dr. Baja, was killed in an airplane accident this past summer.
What is the longest time anyone has had a pacemaker? I am worried about having mine replaced and also how bad is the procedure. I hope those telephone test are accurate and are able to detect in time if it needs to be replaced.

Hi Pals
Yes, I have had a great week with you all. I am gradually getting used to the different times zones and knowing when to catch who on chat. I bought a map this week to mark out where everyone is. It kinda brings you all closer. I am wondering if there is going to be that reunion that was talked about. Does anyone know? Brian and I are thinking of coming over from Australia so it would be good to know well in advance for long distance members. We want to work in some trip...

Okay, my PM is electronic and doesn't rely on gas (well, except for when I go for my check-ups)
Jessie's post about the good ol' days got me thinking...
When it comes to paying rediculous prices for gas - I am amazed at how "accepting" the masses are.
I have seen a few times when it is posted all over the internet to "stop buying gas from just one company for one day"
But we don't bother.
It's easier to "do nothing" and "complain."
(Not saying all...

Wow what a road I have been down over the past month. I appreciate the advice I have received here. Today I had a Tilt Table Test. I was passed out cold in less than 8 minutes. It would have been sooner if I wouldn't have convinced the man giving the test to unstrap my legs to allow me to bend them. They have diagnosed me with Neurocardiogenic Syncope and I show the signs of Heart Block but he feels these will go away if we treat the syncope. The 2 treatment options at this point are Proamatine...
