6 months
Today it is 6 months since my new pacemaker was installed. People ask how I feel and I am like I felt fine before.
i wish I could go back to before I had it as I felt so good. My doc gave a channel blocker because my holter monitor was a little irregular. I took it 3 days and it made me have bpm in 30’s and I felt horrible so 2 weeks later I was given a pm....
My left shoulder are still bothers me from time to time and has settled into th...
Calling for people more experienced than me
Hi all, I am 2 days post op and no major complications at all so far and pain has been fairly minimal. I've got a dual chamber pacer set to DDD to treat my CCHB (HIS BUNDLE PACING). My consultant did explain this too me and I thought I'd understood it but maybe not so if anyone has the same condition and can explain it better than I then please do:
Am I right in saying that my top chamber is fine and is sending the signals down to the bottom at a normal rate, the issue is that t...
Pacemaker
I've had my pacemaker for a while and really love it. I have so much energy and feel like I am 10 years younger. I do have a problem that I am looking for suggestions. I am a side sleeper and it doesn't matter which side I sleep on because my shoulder eventually collapses and the pacemaker really pinches. I'm concerned about possible injury and also asking if anyone also has this problem and what do you do to make sleep a little easi...
Waiting is the hardest part?
Hi all sorry for so many successive posts! 3 more nights until my procedure (I have CCHB) and the waiting is driving me insane, im so worried somethings going to happen to me in the meantime! Any advice for coping with the wait? I'm being kept in the hospital under a heart monitor just so they can keep an eye on me but they're saying i'm very low risk of anything bad actually happening. My rates been dropping to the low 30s over night which is scary to see! All...

Follow up to my first post titled "CONGENITAL COMPLETE HEART BLOCK FOUND AT 23".
Link: https://pacemakerclub.com/message/36013/congenital-complete-heart-block-found-at-23.
Hi all so if you read my first post you'll know I was recently diagnosed with Congenital Complete Heart Block which was a random finding on an ECG! The initial plan was to go through the wait and watch approach and wait for my symptoms to worsen before getting the PM which i was not a fan...
New Pacemaker patient
I had a two lead Medtronic PM implanted on Nov. 7th. I feel great one day and exhausted the next. The days I feel bad my BP is erratic.
One night I could not sleep and I checked my pulse and it was 91 BPM! I read that it takes some time for your body to adjust.
Thank you for your insight. (I realize everone is different....to a degree)
CONGENITAL COMPLETE HEART BLOCK FOUND AT 23
Well this is going to be a long story. My name is Thomas Watkins, I am a 23 year old male from Cambridge UK. About 6 weeks back I experience an episode of hyperventilation syndrome (A panic attack) at university and my house mates called an amublance.
Upon their arrival they calmed me down and hooked me up to an ECG and discovered a complete (third degree) heart block. I was taken to hospital and thats where I stayed for 8 days while they conducted several tests including multiple...
Pacemaker/Defib Questions
I had heart failure July 26th, 2019, while working. The next day, the doctors put in a PM/Defibrillator. I have had several checks since and have a complete checkup for me as well as my unit next week.
I have experienced some transitional things such as it moving (slightly), mild pain and discomfort from healing and some mental adjustments. I am blessed to not have any major complications so far.
Just in the last two weeks, I smell a tinny burning smell (ever so...

Hi everyone !
I´m 20 years old and have a pacemaker since i was 6. This last week i was told that my lead where malfunctioning (they're kinda old). My doctor decided to abandon the leads and the generator because it's not worth the risk and lead extraction is a high risk procedure that can end with open heart surgery. She also decided to implant new lead and a new pacemaker on the other side. Here are my concerns:
-Does lead abandonment can cause future complications...
No body mentioned an anxiety disorder would develop with heart problems!
I nearly died three weeks ago with a stage three heart block. Heart rate was 20 bpm. I am a 61 year old female being treated for mild heart failure cased by left-bundle-branch block. I was taking carvedilol (Coreg). The dose was recently slightly increased which caused the heart block. At first, the beta-blocker was the primary cause. Then they put in a cardiac loop, and that recorded my heart stopping twice. I learned this on a Friday and by Monday I had a 3 wire CRT put in. I’ve...

Good morning everyone. I am a 55-year-old female without any exterior signs of having anything wrong. I was told I need an ICD by two different doctors. I going to have a procedure Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I have elected to have it put in under the muscle. As I'm sure all of you were, I'm kind of scared. I feel I'm too young but I have to listen to my doctors. Anybody currently have one that was put in under the muscle? I could really use some words of encouragement. It&...
Overwhelmed
Hello,
I'm a few days out from having an emergency pacemaker installed. Woke up the other morning to what the cardiologist is calling a type iii block which caused my heart rate to drop to the 20's. The whole incident lasted about 4 hours and caused me to blackout. I'm a health conscious and very fit male in my early forties with no other health issues. I'm still in shock and denial about what happened. Honestly, I feel really dep...

I have a variety of HR issues, essential hypertension, sinus node dysfunction, dyslipidemia and atrial flutter. I received my pace maker in January 2019 and it works great. Didn't know at the time it does nothing for flutter and tackycardia (sp). I am lucky I don't have symptions often. Have only had systems twice, overall fear/janxiety and high HR. Have had some success with practicing some vegus nerve stimulation, deep breaths, ice pack...

today decided it would be better for me not to hug. As was having pain in spine on my right side. Explained to others why i did not. All were understanding. Also did not want someone resting their hand on my right shoulder. Causing pain there in the right side of the spine was enough.

Hello all! This is my first post here so bare with me.. I'm struggling with accepting the fact that I'll be getting a pacemaker at only 25 years old. I have congenital heart disease.. more specifically born with an atrial septal defect which was surgically corrected via open heart surgery when I was 1 1/2 years old. Ever since then I've been dealing with symptoms resulting from bradycardia even when I do something simple such as walking.
I was so young when...

relationships, scars and secrets
I’ve had a heart condition all my life however It wasn’t a big part of me, I had cardiologist appointments once a year and nobody even knew about my heart condition (expect family and a few close friends) because I never felt the need or comfort to let it out. When I was 12 my condition worsened and I got my PM and since then it’s been a pretty big impact on my life but still nobody knows about it because they never knew about my condition in the first place (as I menti...

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
