I have a Medtronics Revo SureScan Pacemaker, implanted due to complete heart block back in Feb. For the most part all is good, with a couple of issues. Mainly it is that sometimes my pacer quits pacing...then proceeds to kick back in after I stop what I am doing and rest a minute. My settings were changed a couple months ago to 60 -150, and the delay was shortened. This improved my ability to swim laps. I am not a fast swimmer, but I need to get in the pool 3 x a week to keep my joints going (59...

Dear All, I am 56 and was given a pacer a year ago for 2-1 AV heart block. Prior to pace I had no symptoms except for some mild exercise limitation (I would get out of breath when running).
Post pacer I have fatigue, constant cough, and echo shows my ejection fraction has gone down (heart less efficient). General health declined and stayed worse for a year.
I am thinking of having the pacer turned off to see if my overall
health improves. Of course I understand t...

I wish I could go back to the scared depressed person I was when I was diagnosed with chf. I went I to a major depression. If u feel depressed there is help out there. I had gone to one dr who told me well I guess your heart will hold out for maybe 2 years, then you would prob need a transplant. I will never forget that day it was a beautiful spring day. My daughter had to literally help me walk out of his office. Not due to my heart but the statements this dr made. Needless to say I nev...

I asked the dr if it could be the pacemaker that made my ef go up. He was stunned that it had gone up. My dr reads the echo never heard of a computer reading it. I was at 10 per cent and was being evaluated for a heart transplant. I go to a dr in New York at Colimbia Pres Hospital who only sees patients with possible heart transplants. I also have a regular cardio near my home. To boot, I was told at the time they put the new. Defibrillator in that the one was damaged. I have no idea. My...

This may seem like a dump questions, but I have had my PM for three years and mostly everything seems good. For the past couple weeks, however, I am low on energy and everything seems to be an effort. What are some of the symptoms that would require resetting the PM? Thanks.

On my usual 1 1/2 walk up and down a very steep hill (Ski Hill Circle)and two lesser hills (all paved streets) tonight for the first time I exceeded my PM setting of 60-120 with symptoms of being a bit out of breath, nervous, a bit light headed at times, and a higher heart rate throughout out the rest of the routine evening walk. I walk this route at least 3 times a week and usually get my heart rate up over 120 at the top, 108-111 on the next less steep rise, and in the 90's to 70's coming dow...

Bit of a long one I'm afraid! Last November I was 5 months pregnant I I began to notice a popping sensation over the top of my pace maker which made me breathless. I went to doctors and was told it was HEARTBURN :( had 24 hour ecgs which shown ectopic beats, still noting was done and was blamed on the pregnancy. had my baby end of January and the symptoms become worse so they decided to do a pace check, only to find my battery had died and pacemaker was faulty! I only use mine on demand. So the...

I have had my pacemaker about 6 months now and it seems to be working fine. However sometime's I get a tingling light numb feeling in my right hand. After about 20 min. it goes away. Do you think it could be anxiety because I suffer from that or maybe the medicine I take for anxiety and blood pressure. The Heart Doctor checked me out a couple of months ago and said everything looks good.

Had my 3 MO post PM check today. Pacing at about 60% atrial and about 2-4% ventricle. Still having bouts of AFIB although they said it was down a little from last time. Overall only about a little less than 1% of the time with heart rates peaking at about 150 to 160 so it wasn't really that bad. The question he asked me was did I want to try to bump up the medication, try something else or just wait it out for the A-fib. I feel of course lousy when I go into afib But it's usually only for a litt...

Had my first programming yesterday on my new crt. Due to the fact I'm 100% paced with av node ablation he wanted to check to make sure had no natural beat so they warned me then started shutting down crt device. Let them know at 20 bpm I was passing out and they brought me back up. He wanted me to experience my unit failing on me. What a trip. Wasn't expecting it. Puts a little more dependency in the back of your mind on how important that little computer box is.

I've just had my 6 week check after having my first pacemaker and everything is as it should be, but they've found another arithmya due to palpitations I've been having.
I have my print out but don't know what it means.
AT/AF 350ms (171bpm)
VT Detection 400ms (150bpm)
Can anyone tell me what this means? I presume it's the arithmya?

I have had my pacemaker for 10 weeks now for 2nd degree heart block occurring only with strenuous exercise. I have had my settings changed 4 times. I recently had a 2nd opinion at the Cleveland Clinic. They changed the AV Search + from off to on and the Minute Ventilation to "off" from ART only. The other changes are in the Paced AV delay from 80 - 300 ms to 100 - 180 ms and the Sensed AV delay from 65 - 240 ms to 85 - 150 ms. They explained that the pacemaker should now only kick in when I...

This is to thank everyone who has encouraged contacting your physicians and insisting on what you need. Especially noting that the EP may be more attentive to your pacemaker than to you and your pacemaker.
I'm 73, had sudden onset of intermittent 2 degree and complete ventricular block last fall. No other cardiac issues (or other health issues). My pacemaker was implanted at the end of January without any problems. It took about 4 1/2 months for all the little twitches and tingles, etc. to...

Hi all. My husband has a st. Jude crt-d. It was implanted in June 2014. It was originally set at a low rate of 60 and a high rate of 120. The rate response is on. He was interrogated yesterday and they turned his heart rate up to 70 bpm because he was only being paced at 88%, not 100%. They want him paced at 100%. The technician said that My husband's heart looked better with an increased heart rate. He is now feeling light-headed at times. Is this normal? Will it just take a little ti...
