Bit of a long one I'm afraid! Last November I was 5 months pregnant I I began to notice a popping sensation over the top of my pace maker which made me breathless. I went to doctors and was told it was HEARTBURN :( had 24 hour ecgs which shown ectopic beats, still noting was done and was blamed on the pregnancy. had my baby end of January and the symptoms become worse so they decided to do a pace check, only to find my battery had died and pacemaker was faulty! I only use mine on demand. So they've replaced it in march, took 6 weeks for the symptoms to settle down. It has now started again, they think I may have become pace sensitive but I don't use it that much and it's keeping me awake at night :( basically wondering if anyone had anything similar? I'm 24 and had a pacemaker for 8years!

Were you, by chance, missing your cardiac checkups? I'm horrified that no one realized you were out of battery power!
I'm of no help whatsoever about your "pace sensitivity" since I am less than a year into my PM journey. Keep us posted so we can learn from this too.
Dead Battery

I had an experience similar to B Wilks. We were traveling in another state and got to feeling out or breath, dizzy and like I was going to faint. Went to an ER, they checked everything out to the tune of $6,000. and said there was nothing wrong. After that, I saw two different doctors and they also found nothing wrong. I( had told them all that I had a PM.
When I got back home I had a PM check and found my battery had died over a month ago..
Sensitive at rest

I use to have the sensitivity while at rest on my back or leaning back into the couch. I could not only feel the pacer firing each beat but you could see it raise by chest. Like to drove me nuts and it was difficult to fall asleep. During my routine check the tech ask me to find the position that I noticed the problem. While in that position they were able to adjust my PM to a setting that stopped the "bouncing", but still allowed the PM to be effective. Now it is much more comfortable
Still happening

Can confirm I'm NOT pace sensitive :( they still have no clue and because they haven't had a patient with this before they said I may have to live with it, don't see how this is fair :(

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!
faulty

Yes I would go every 12 months and in my previous check up the battery life was still good as I only use it on demand! They said it was faulty and would be investigated but I wouldn't be informed! I'm not sure if it's sensitivity as I feel it almost every night in which I don't use my pacemaker that much!
