Today's follow up

Well I walked out with two additional diagnoses. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia as well as orthostatic hypotension. I am also still having episodes of some sort of SVT in the 130-150 range lasting from a few minutes to nearly an hour. My sitting BP was 116/68 and dropped to 103/ 58 after standing. She said I were to be given a tilt table test as suggested before, it would tank.

New treatment plan:

Try metoprolol succinate to see if it lowers my BP any less. Consume as much s...

2 Days Post Implant Questions

Hello. I am new to the "club" as of Tuesday. I have always had a slow heart rate - was always asked if I am a runner. (I was a runner for about 10 years from 43 years old to 53 yrs old.)  My resting heart rate was typically in the mid to high 40's. Over the past few years, I am now 57, my resting heart rate has dropped to mid to high 30's.  Have been feeling light headed, tired and brain fog for a while and my cardiologist gave the green light to mov...

Should I be irritated?

As I've been saying, my blood pressure has been rather low. My current average that my monitor gives me is 98/55.

I called last week and let them know how I was feeling and sent over a transmission, though I didn't think my heart rate or rhythm was the issue at the time. The tech called back and let me know that this was the case, and said that they would talk to the doctor about the blood pressure. I never got a call back.

I went to refill my metoprolol yesterday ev...

Rate dropping

Hi, I have had my 3 lead Medtronic Pacemaker for 4 years. It is set at a rate of 60 ....I run at 60 almost every day.

Lately I have been running around 59 ( Sometimes lower)

I notified my doctor about this and she she said for my pacemaker it is normal (????)

This has only been happening within the past couple of months.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I would be appreciated of any information.

Thanks for any help.

Been feeling tired, drained, dizzy, brain fog, not sleeping....PM check showed episode of possible PSVT for 20mins, BPM 198....how can this be as I have a dual lead PM that is supposed to pace when things are wrong?? Now on Holter monitor for next 3 days and see what happens after that. Any advice??

Hey everyone! Can anyone give me a little guidance as far as blood pressure goes? It’s been higher than usual lately?

I do suffer from bad anxiety so maybe that contributes to it. But my BP is normally under 120/under 80. But the last couple of days I’ve been 127/81; 127/80; and yesterday I was feeling really nauseous which caused me to get panicked and worry that something went wrong, and my BP shot up to 136/80.

When it was that high I noticed once I relaxed a bit I managed to get the top number down to 115. That was within about an hour or so I wanna say?

I’m also...

Atrial vs ventricle pacing

My defibrillate/PM is atrial pacing and paces me 74 percent of the time.  I've been feeling tired lately.  Could this possibly be because my ventricle needs pacing as well?

RADIO LINKED SMOKE DETECTORS

In Scotland the fire detection laws are changing. As from February 2022 we must have either wired or radio linked alarms in all rooms meaning multiple devices.

I know devices are ok with wireless internet but not sure if radio frequency is the same thing.

Obviously they would be a cheaper option than wiring but not completely comfortable with the safety aspect for devices.

I'd be grateful for any advice please.

Thank you

I'm new and just had ICD implant

I had my ICD implanted this past Tuesday, Sept 28, 2021  I'm feeling pretty unsettled and anxious about things.  I'm hopiong to find others here who are either experiencing similar things or, better yet, have more experience in dealing with them.

I'm a 50 year old male with a diagnosis of mild non-obsturctive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.  I've had excercise restriction most of my life but still managed to play Div I baseball and continue with exercis...

What Can It Be?

Had a dual pacemaker fitted to atria in 2014 due to persistent AFib, followed by an AV node ablation, and have enjoyed up until late last year without a trace of trouble.  Now starting to get periods of what feels just like AFib again, pulse feels irregular, and it leaves me exhausted, but the pacemaker tracing shows nothing at the times I noted the disturbances.  I got so concerned over a prolonged episode of about 6.5 hours, I contacted an an NHS advice line, who un...

About Pacemakers/ICD's in PLAIN English

Hi everyone I came across this very good article explaining in PLAIN English how Pacemakers work etc. Hopefully it will help many newbies & those about to get a Pacemaker. Often people ask about magnets as we are advised to keep clear if them, this article explains exactly how it affects your device, well worth a read even to those who have had theirs for years. Best wishes everyone. https://www.printfriendly.com/p/g/MHHpTS

Still waiting it out

I'm still waiting it out until my October 7th appointment to follow up since starting the meds. I felt like real crap yesterday though. My BP was 117/70 and pulse 102 before taking my morning dose.

About an hour later I started feeling very lightheaded and nauseous folding laundry. Sat down for about 10 minutes and checked again and BP was 88/44 pulse 115. My BP came up a little bit(105/56) after awhile but my pulse stayed in the 90 to 115 range for about two hours ju...

Am I the only one?

So, for the past week or two I've been feeling this weird bubbling/fizzing feeling at my pacemaker site.I've tried (in vain) to look up and see if there was any information on what it could be. My model number is part of the FDA recall of Abbott Assurity pacemakers. Just not the serial. I have a check up tomorrow, but has anyone else felt this before?

Pacemaker replacement

My pacemaker is about to give up the ghost.  I am due to have it replaced in the next couple of weeks.

My question is, has anyone been able to keep the old pacer?  I've had it since 2009, and feel it is part of the family.

Strange readings on pulse oximeter

I just joined this club- I didn't know it existed, but I'm glad I found it. I've had a pacemaker/ICD since 2012 and it was replaced in 2016 as a precaution when some batteries appeared to not hold a charge as long as predicted. I'm 100% paced and have a complicated cardiac history, but my question now is this:

A few weeks ago, I'd just eaten dinner and felt very full. My heart was beating hard and was visibly thumping. I felt very hot and sweaty. I put my pulse-ox on...

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
