Hello Everyone, Had my PM inplanted on 11/1/21. Small pimple like spot on end of incision which looks like it might be infected a bit. Red around edges, hurts a bit and it wasnt before.. The post op instructions stated no creams or ointments. Am I save in assuming they meant right after surgery? Since the surgery strips are off, sutures are gone, and wound is closed, would it be ok to put a dot on antibiotic ointment on it? Has anyone else h...

Boston Scientific U228 implanted dec 4 2019. When I sit at my desk I can hear it clicking (mechanical sound) Not all the time but lasts for a few minutes. I recorded it - I can hear two distinct sounds - the valve gushing sounds and the clicking sound. Curious - Is that normal?

Hi,
im just curious is anybody here in their 20s? I am 23 and I just feel like every one I know that has a pacemaker is much older than me (nothing wrong with that), but I was wondering if I can find friends here about my age and ask how they feel, because sometimes I get very anxious, I just got my PM implanted 3weeks ago (first time).
thank you

Just celebrated my second anniversary since having my pace maker installed. Had a recent checkup and was told my battery was good for eight more years. After receiving my pacemaker I decided to live ever day like it was my last.
I recently traveled across the coutry to the southwest and it's many natural wonders and national park. I decided to video my adventure and post it on YouTube, I wanted to get out as many handicapped and senior citizens who felt there active lives...

Had a CRTD implanted in January and it seems to be doing what it should but after a visit to the cardiologist last week I find I have been discharged which doesn't make sense as I , like many on here I guess, have Heart failure ?
Have they made a mistake or is it normal ? I only know because I was checking on next pacemaker check up which is in May; then they said cardiologist has discharged me. Seems odd although I guess there is not much more the cardiologist can do now I ha...

Hi everyone,
I had a mild case of Covid Arm (rash) after my second Moderna shot which cleared up in a few days and as I will soon be due for the Moderna booster I would like to know if there is experience here with having Covid arm after second shot and then getting the Moderna booster shot? CDC guidelines say you should still get the booster. I read the previous posts and replies regarding the booster shot here which are helpful.

Hello all,
Anyone lose weight after their PM & what did you do? Implanted 4/2019.
I've lost a decent amount of weight over the past year- about 40lbs. I think I was 180lbs when implanted; I'm now under 140lbs. It was mostly intentional- I lost some from ceasing antihistamines, realized I was under 160 last May, cut out most added sugars & picked up my walking. I *may be* still slowly losing, too. About 137lbs.

Hi, Everyone:
I’m scheduled for CRT-P surgery in three weeks. I’m 91 years old and had my 4th dual chamber pacemaker placed in March 2020. I have a history of cardiomyopathy, enlarged heart and atrial fibrillation. However, there have been no significant episodes of Afib for the past 6-7 years and it’s no longer an issue My meds include Carvedilol, amiodarone, furosemide, and pravastatin. I also have stage 3B kidney disease which has been stable over...

I had pacemaker put in 2015 because I had bradycardia. I am 63 now and have always kept myself in good shape, In the last year or so when I take a walk in morning 4 miles or so I feel good but when I get to a hill I have a hard time catching my breath. I am really having a hard time going up a big hill----WHY. I otherwise feel fine. It just seems lately I have a hard time catching my breath if I run even for a little bit. My blood pressure is ok. Does anyone else have this problem...

Hi,
I had my Biotronic Edo 8 impant 3 weeks ago.
The first week, even with little pain recovery was fast and I felt great.
I was diagnosed brady/Tachy cardia with arrithmia
After 1 week my heart started racing even resting never dropped 90-100, so I went to the ER.
The PM was checked by Biotronic techs, everything was ok. Dr. diagnosed Tachycardia and started me on 25mg Atenolol. A Inflammation with liquid was also treated with 9 days of Ibuprofeno

Its just about 3 months since my dual chamber pacemaker was placed. My first in office appointment is in a few weeks.
My pacemaker never seemed to sit snugly in a pocket. One edge always sticks up. At one point it would flip 90-180 degrees. (Quite annoying. Now it only flips about 90 degrees and fatty tissue seems to be growing over it and adhering to it. Is this normal?
They really need to issue a pacemaker handbook!

Hello Club Members who have a Medronic Pacemaker with the MyCareRelay Home Communicator: I read the book but not sure if I understand how it works exactly. Am I correct in thinking that the Pacemaker itself stores data througout the day, when in range of the Home Communicator it transfer the data to it and stores the data until the date Dr. scheduled to receive it? So if that is correct, will the Pacemaker itself only hold one day of data and m...

I forgot to ask my Cardio today but any thoughts much appreciated..
I am getting very fast multi focal atrial rates... PM adjustment coming up when a rep becomes available where Dr suggests they increase the atrial rate on my PM (?) To try n stop the fast rates not sure what this means....
Other option is AV ablation but as I am young they are understandably reluctant as would become PM depenendant... or increase meds which are already at higher than usual doses....

Hi everyone, had a lousy weekend because i woke up saturday morning with a pinched nerve in my neck. went to ER and DR on call gave me a painkiller called cyclobenzaprine which i had no idea made my heart race for hours so back to emergency next morning and they manage to control it. My question is would a pinch nerve itself cause my heart rate to increase and also increase my blood pressure. The pain has somewhat subsided from my neck and its in my upper back. Im noticing that my heart...

Hi everyone,
I've had my replacement PM for a month now. Getting episodes of Pacemaker premeditated tachycardia. They tweaked a few things yesterday, but I don't feel quite right.
Don't feel as good as I did with the old one. Anyone else get this problem.

Hello Everyone, A friend of mine mentioned I should get a Medical Alert ID Bracelet or Necklace to wear in case of an emergency and I cannot speak so EMS will see that I have a pacemaker. Are there specific Medicail Alert ID's for pacemakers? Do I ask my Doctor's office? Maybe they have to write a prescription for it and then it might be covered by insurance in New York State? Or is it something you have to buy on your own and if so does...
