Ive done some searching on this site to mixed ideas on Welding. Im retired but like to mig weld and i see some say mig/tig is ok and to stay away from AC (Arc welding)

New Pacemaker

For years I have had a slow heart beat. My resting heart rate was in the low 40s and I am not an athlete.  Then my Apple watch’s EKG function showed three seconds between heart beats. Bio Oil Use

Good afternoon all.

I had my pacemaker fitted on December10th. 2020 and my 1 month check on January 12th. 2021 was perfect. I still have a small scab on the scar, can I now start to use Bio OIl on the scar to help to remove/clear/minimise it? Any thoughts and advce would be appreciated. Thanks Ronboy

Starting Flecainide

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone could tell me their experience with starting Flecainide? I am going for a consultation on Monday and am looking at having to start this medication for symptomatic PVC's. I have sick sinus syndrome, NSVT, and a pacemaker. I was told that I will have to be hospitalized for at least 3 days to start the medication. Any advice is welcome! And any experiences are welcome...good or bad. I like to be prepared going into things!

Mobitz I and Mobitz II

I understand the descriptions for Mobitz I and Mobitz II grade 2 type heart blocks.

What I am struggling with is what would the explanation be for having both in the same person.

I know I have a long PR interval and I know the EP said that sometimes my heart would drop a beat after increasingly lengthening PR intervals. That makes sense and would come under  Mobitz I and suggest I have a problem with the AV node.

PM placement change..how soon?

Hey all, 

I'm still only about 3.5 weeks into life with a PM and I'm really struggling with how enormous it seems. I'm super thin/boney and I talked to the doc beforehand about potentially placing it in the muscle...he was reluctant and said they usually only do that on people who are so thin, they barely have enough skin to pull over the device...now, being in this group it seems to me that thats not so true, and plenty of people have it in the muscle. Elevated heart rate after eating

I guess this has nothing to do with pacemaker but was just wonder if anyone has had this experience, I noticed after I eat a heavy meal or food with high sodium,ill notice that I get bloated quick and full with burping followed with a elevated heart rate. New to Pacemakers

Hi everyone!

I am a new patient recently diagnosed with Bradycardia and referred for a Pacemaker. I can't get in for an Echo until February and after that the doctors determine when they will see me and that probably won't be until March.

Meanwhile I do my best to cope with waking up 3 or 4 times a night with difficulty breathing. On my Holter test I had episodes where my heart would stop for 3-6 beats with a heart rate down to 30.

heart palpitations

Hi folks, i have these palpitations that i feel at times. It comes and goes. ive had my pacemaker for over a year and half. the first 5 months after i recieved my PM i really never fely my heart palpitate. Until i had my first anxiety attack and from that point on i can feel these palpitations. PM and Magnetic Fields in RV or Camper Van

I have read the manual for my Boston Sci PM and am acquainted with the cautions and distances recommended.  But some things aren't addressed.

We have an RV that we use from time to time but want to downsize to a Class B camper van.  After a lot of online research we are finding that most vans (and some RVs) have the battery bank under the bed(s).

Mom's New PM

So glad I found the "club" and have seen some great info here.  My Mom is 85 and has always had a heart rate in the 40's without issues.  She started having some AFIB so when her heart rate would go up to around 100, she would feel it and get shortness of breath.  she was also having some pauses with the AFIB and her heart rate would dip into the 30's and she would feel lightheaded.  She was in and out of the hospital many times before they finally decide...

Pacemaker

I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and get a pacemaker installed.

I am a 72-year-old guy with a history of bradycardia. Cardiologist is recommending a pacemaker. Would be nice to hear from other pacemaker patients.

BPM is usually about 35 to 45. I do exercise almost every day, heartbeat gets up to about 50, and I feel really good at that heartbeat rate.

Swollen Ankles and Feet

Hi, recently joined after having a Medtronic Azure pacemaker implanted on 12/14/2020. My bio tells the story, but briefly I had gone into the hospital for an ablation procedure but during observation after the procedure my heart rate dropped to 35 or below and stayed there.
