SURGERY and Blood Thinners

Need some help. I had a T.I.A. stroke a couple of weeks ago because I stopped PRADAXA for 3 days. My problem is --- the last time I changed my CRT-P Pacer ( June 2013 ) I stopped the PRADAXA for 4 days ( doctors orders). Now I am wondering If there is any rule as to how many days you should stop or do doctors just pull a number of days out of the air. Obviously if I got a stroke after 3 days stoppage; stopping it for 4 days means I'm pushing my luck each time I change a Pacemaker. Anyone out the...

feel so unwell for 2 years and ongoing

Hi not feeling good and was wondering if anyone has same sort of thing, to cut very long story short I have had 3 pacemakers in 18 months due to infection, first infection was iv treated for 2 weeks before new one put in on other side, new one didn't heal properly for 6 months and I was constantly made to feel I was wasting doctors and cardio time and told its only scar tissue that wont heal not pocket infection, I was so fed up and depressed with it all, after 6 moths a hole appeared like a mag...

Pace maker pain...

I have a 2 month old pacemaker that is cauing me pain along the scar and around the outside edge of the divice. Also have a medtronic heart loop. There does not seem to be an infection but just a bothersome pain. Wakes me up, hard to sleep on stomach. Almost like a burning sensation.

Cardiac sarcoidosis

Hello all,

This is a follow up to my post about not being able to exercise without feeling sick and throwing up etc. This past Monday my Husband and I walked to our mailbox which has a slight hill to climb. I got dizzy and had to be helped back home, started the old sick, throw-up thing. Fairly new pacemaker/afib found

Hello,

I was just told this morning that my father has an afib in the upper part of his heart. He had a pacemaker put in in 2012. The afib was just found because of a reading and a regular checkup with the VA. Per records the afib showed up in Dec of 2014, Jan, Feb of this year.

We've many questions of course. My concerns are if he would have to go back into surgery for treatment? Has anyone here been in this situation? Do or can pacemakers cause afibs?

Second Pocket Revision?

When I had my pacemaker originally put in they just put it in under the skin but soon after it started moving around and almost flipping over. The cardiologist recommended getting a pocket revision and having it put in the muscle. I got my pocket revision about a year ago. I got my pacemaker two years ago and l have lumps around it also they were very soft but now a couple of them feel like small peas. It took almost this whole time for the soreness to go away, I thought it was just scar tissue, it seems like my body didn't like having it in there. I had a mammogram and that was ok but I don't think it goes that high so I am going back to my cardiologist next week and see what they say. I hope it's nothing and I let it go, my mammogram was ok.

night sweats and initial weight loss

I received a dualPM a month ago .Since then I have had night sweats and there getting worse where I have to change my tee shirt and bedding every night.I also had a loss of about 10 lbs after surgery however I am slowly gaining the weight back.In the hospital I got RED MAN syndrome during the procedure from Vanco and was not given any more anti=biotic during my stay.My question is could I have Endocarditis...the problems I have listed are symptoms of this infection. A-Fib after pacemaker insertion.

I had a Bos. Sci. PM installed 1/14/15. I had a-fib while still at hosp. They ran an ekg imm. after. the nurse said that I had had an a-fib event. Went home next day and recovered well. have felt great since. When I turn over, I feel something odd

Hi everyone. Lately when I turn on my left side in bed, it feels like something is pulling. I actually went to the cardiologist a couple months ago feeling like it had moved and they said that was normal and told me to wear two sports bras when I walked!!!

Anyone else had this problem

So ever since my ablation and pacemaker on 1/21 when I a yawn I cant breath at all, I feel like I am suffocating I asked my Family Doc and his response was "thats weird" and he moved on. exercise

It seems when I exercise or over excert myself I get light headed, dizzy and nausea. I have had two times this last week which resulted in me feeling pain in my chest and throwing up. I'm due to see my doctor next month, I have been waiting for my medical to start so I can get a echo etc. Has anyone else gotten so sick from exercise or doing too much like snow shoveling? Blood Pressure rise

My resting heart rate was very low (32) and my BP was 120/72.After first pacemaker implant BP went up and I was put on 5 mg of Lisinopril. When battery needed replacing the next pacemaker raised my BP even higher 200/100. 40 mg of Lisinopril and 10 mg of amlopidine it is now under control.
What is going on here? My cardiologist says there is no connection between my BP and the pacemaker.
Otherwise the pacemaker has been great.

Possible Infection

Good afternoon,

I had my Metrinc Dual Chamber PM installed on November 10th and a lead reposition on November 21, where at this time a lead punctures my heart and I had a pericardal effusion. Now I have had swelling in my PM site for over a month, went to the Dr. and they thought perhaps I was over doing it. I took it easy and a week later I ended up with what I could best describe as a blister on my already healed incision. I went back to the Dr and they put me on Bactrim DS twice...

Lump in throat and heart dropping

I have had my pacemaker since Dec
30 th. (Almost 2 months).... I am constantly tired and feel like I am going to pss out and out of breath, and it feels like I got this big lump in my throat.
