I am 6 days post implant. I originally had a PM implanted on the left side in 2010, subsequently had 2 abalations, and the PM and leads were removed in 2011. Since then I have had tachy pretty well controlled on meds. Starting November 8th, I started bradying down, first in the 50s for a day (even with activity ) and then the 40s and finally the 30s. I ended up in the ER on the 11th with sinus bradycardia. After numerous hits of atropine which only temporarily br...

Always Wear a Heart Monitor
Pacemakers and ICDs typically have a rate cutoff, and you want to avoid getting too close to this upper limit. A heart monitor can help you monitor your pulse and to modulate your workout accordingly. Typically, you want to maintain at least a 10 perfect margin between your exercise h...

Hi everyone. I am due to get my ICD implanted tomorrow. I've been crying all day, I've had my pre-surgical check up. Just can't seem to get my emotions under control. I have no symptoms what so ever so to me it makes it tougher to accept. Hoping I don't slip into depression even though I'm not normally a depressed person. I am choosing to get mine implanted under the muscle. Yes for cosmetic reasons because I am a 55-year-old woman. The healing process will...

I'm 37 F and have a pacemaker for vasovagal syncope. During and after I exercise or if I do anything strenuous my heart will hurt. It's a deep inside isolated pain (top left or bottom right) accompanied with nausea, arm/back/shoulder blade pain. The arm/back/shoulder pain doesn't go away. I have been told it's probably anxiety/stress or an anxiety/panic attack. I feel I am being dismissed because of my age and the fact I do suffer f...

I was born with Transposition of the great artery physiologically corrected, I got a pacemaker about 7 years ago due to 3rd degree heart block. I currently smoke marajuana and drink but no other drugs. I was considering tripping on shrooms soon and was wondering if anyone has any expeirinces or has any incite on the negative affects on taking them?

I'm only 21 and had my pacemaker put in 6 months ago. I still feel lots of pain around the site and am extremely itchy. Is this normal, or did anyone else experience this?

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and need to start radiation treatments. I know the cancer center can handle this, but has anyone gone through radiation in the chest area? This is making me nervous, since I'm worried about my pacemaker.

Hi everyone I am days away from having an ICD implanted. Went to see my cardiologist today my EF is 20%. They're going to do another echo to see if my EF has increased since taking entresto about four months ago. My doctor said if I get it up to 35% I may not need the ICD. Has anyone had this or experienced this at all. I'm really reluctant on getting the ICD I'd rather do whatever I can to improve my EF. I have also had LBBB but the doctor says I can live with that but I need to...

Mericare does not pay for a sick sinus syndrome pacemaker if the patient takes sotalol for AFIB.
Most cardiologists in U.S.use Medicare. Anyone know of a cardiologist in new england that does not have this restriction.?

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
