Heart rate

I have a crazy heart rate where it will jump high like this morning was 161 then fall to 48. Does anyone else have this problem? It worries me! Nobody takes it serious but I believe it causes my dizziness. I have unexplained dizziness. It jumps so quick that the pacemaker doesn't catch it when they interrogate he pacemaker but the pulse recorder on my watch picks it up.

Atrial fibrillation & pacemakers.

Hi Guys,

have’t posted for a while, thought this might be of some interest.

Had my pm since 2009, a St. Jude, Zephyr, for Sick Sinus Syndrome. No problems.

I have had paroxsysmal AFib since I was 22, now 73.

Few years back, started asking for a copy of the PM printout at PM checks. Read it and noticed there was an algorythm for AFib. It was off.

Asked why?   Answer....... doesn’t make much difference to most people.

Worried about AV Block Progression.

I am still very new to all this - only had my PM since 13 August 19.  I was diagnosed with Mobitz II, but I keep on reading that a Stage 2 block can rapidly progress to a complete block.  Does anyone know what the chances are of this happening and what the symptoms would be if it happened?

Graham.

Is it true...

Hello! I read that after being diagnosed with HF that you only have about 5 years to go with your heart. Is this true? Should I be counting down for my heart transplant? I think I am in stage 3 HF. I have many health problems which are not on my side. I have had my pacemaker/defibrillator for almost 3 years now. Will this help extend the life of my heart? Any thoughts? Have a great day!

6month interrogation ...pacing %%%

My atrial has been pacing at 77%  and my ventricular 30% since implant Dec 17,2018. My latest check up..interrogation ..Sept. 12,2019 shows a dramatic increase in ventricular pacing...it jumped to 86%. My atrial remains the same.  77%. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED WITH THE INCREASE.  I know it can fluctuate .  My doctor did not mention this until I pointed it out. I am concerned that something is going on with my heart..when I asked him why it was happening ...and so...

Upcoming Pacemaker and AV node ablation

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I'm hoping to get a positive response to my question.
I have had persistent a fib on and off since 2007. Two ablations, numerous cardioversions, mitral valve repair 3 years ago. Some of you may know the drill.

I am scheduled for a pacemaker and AV node ablation in three weeks.

My question is:

Has anyone had this done, and what was the outcome?  I have read that some people still experience tiredness. &nb...

Pacemaker Replacement

Hi:  I'm a new member, and have a question I'd like to ask the group. By way of background, I'm a 78 year old male, was diagnosed with AFib in 2013 and had a pacemaker implanted at that time for brachycardia. Subsequently, I had two catheter ablations that were unsuccessful, and because of a nasty blood infection after the second one, decided not to have a third. Currently, I have a low EF (40%) and a dilated aortic root (5 cm). Notwithstanding, I feel pretty good and go to t...

should i let others know

Am going to have a party and am wondering. if I  should send an email.    Advising all if they plan to hug me.  To make sure nothing magnetic, car keys or cell phone in their breast pocket.   Just to be on the safe side.

As had an experience with my cell phone in magnetic case attached to my belt on the right side.  Where i  bent  crossways and made contact.  Got so dizzy thought i would pass out.  Did it twice, now have...

Newbe

I'm new to a PM, still can't believe I've really got one!  I had afib and decided to not have an ablation, as I didn't feel anything.  I thought"no problem".  Then I needed a hernia repair and the surgeon wanted a cardio release.  Cardio did a test and didn't like it so recommended a PM.  Got it done and now most everything is way better.  My sleep is the best in a long time.  I don't see the dr for 6 months, so how do...

Medical alert jewellery beneficial?

There was discussion (I think) here recently about medical alert jewellery and efficacy. Unfortunately, I had the chance to test mine yesterday. I was at a restaurant with my wife and 4yo granddaughter. After the meal, just before leaving, I had what the think (still doing tests), a seizure. I remember my wife telling for the manager to call 911 and the next thing the ambulance was pulling into the hospital. One of the EMTs mentioned that my medical alert tag was extremely helpful. It gave th...

Working out again, shortness of breath, chest and pain down left arm

I'm 37 and a year ago I was in the routine of working out in the morning. One evening I passed out and my heart stopped. It didn't stop long and restarted on its own. From there I had the typical tests and the tilt table test confirmed I have Vasovagal Syncope. I was put on meds but they didn't help so I needed a pacemaker in April of 2019. I was told at my last appointment with the doctor I have cardiomyopathy. Instead of the pacemaker working 20% of the...

New pacemaker

I see a lot of varied posts on Pacemaker, and subsequent SOB. I went into hospital with SOB, and never had a heart issue. They said I had AFIB, thinking for almost a month. Had gone to my Primary Care Dr. And was sent via ambulance to the hospital. HB 160-135.  Did lots of tests, then a Cardioversion, and an Ablation, then a Pacemaker. All strange to me. In hospital for 8 days, now on 3 meds. Came home,  and for few days home felt good, until SOB again. I cannot walk more...
