I had a duel lead pacemaker fitted in 2006, replaced in 2012, and now has 15 months battery life left. Since 2017 I have suffered with AF controlled by medication.
After feeling unwell for sometime and a pacemaker check up I have now been told that between 2nd February, 2019 and 24th March, 2019, my pacemaker intervened due to detecting a reaction bewtween my two upper heart chambers and set my resting pace at 120 BPM.
I naturally felt dreadful due to the fixed setting,...

Is it normal for scar tissue around the pacemaker pocket to continue to grow (or begin growing again) almost eight years post implant?
About six months ago I noticed that my bra strap had begun to irritate the spot. Until then, my bra strap had never been a problem because the strap didn't touch the pacemaker. Feeling around, I realized the strap wasn't over the pacemaker. It was rubbing a raised area just to the left of the device.
I saw my EP about it...

Has any one ever had the feeling like your pacemaker itself is viberating? almost like the things they give you at pizza places to tell you your order is up viberating!! I've had mine since 2015 and all the sudden it feels like it's viberating all the time, It drives me nuts. If so what were your Dr,'s findings? I have an appt. to wear a harness for a day, thanks all

Hi. I have a Medtronic HIS bundle pacemaker for almost a year now. Yesterday I had an MRI for a pituitary problem and a Medtronic Rep put me in what they called was “safe mode” I didn’t seem to feel a difference until after the MRI, the rep was no longer available (scheduling issues) and I waited another 1 1/2 hours for another rep to put me back to my doctors setting. During the wait I started having upper chest pain and pressure that I assumed was my esophageal...

I had a medtronic dual lead pacemaker and av node ablation a year ago. Just recently I feel as though I am in af, feeling very symtomatic. No meds other than warfarin. I assume that this can happen do I cross my fingers and wait for it to pass - stupidly I am abroad and have left my pacemaker monitor behind in London - not returning to UK for another three weeks and am fairly certain that the little island I am on will be way out of their depth. Just advice or reassura...

What are some of the symptoms you will experience if one your lead wires have moved. Im concerned that I might have used my left arm too much. I had the pacemaker inserted April1 and have had the feeling that Im having today. It is like indigestion and a slight ache in th back under my scapula.

Had my first ICD placed in January and have been experiencing a lot of pain around it and feel like its mving around. Just left the doctors office and he's pretty sure the suture holding it in broke becasue its' definitely migrated and in a different place now. I have to go in Friday and have it put back in the righ spot. (Mine is sub pectoral).
I'm assuming this wont be too different than when you go in to have a new one put in after the battery life is out of an old...

It's me again. It seems I come running home almost every time I'm due for another interrogation. I've read SO many posts that people generally feel nothing when their PM is interrogated. Me? I nearly do a face plant onto the floor every time. I also have anxiety disorder so just the thought of this tomorrow has me in a fizz. What I need is honest answers vs soothing words if they don't exist. My fear is whatever my doctor does during this that he won't respond fast enough...

I was very lucky to be in the right place at the right time in November 2017. At hospital for unrelated procedure found out that I was in bad shape and if I had not been at hospital would probably have died quietly at home alone. My blood pressure was very high and my heart rate was very low so within a couple of days I had a Pacemaker to take home with me. Was of course a big surprise but happy to have it.
The day after leaving hospital I was getting what...

I had my first pacemaker placed almost 6 weeks ago. About a week ago I noticed a small opening in the scar that would open up/drain when I showered. I went back to the doctor and had a stitch knot removed from that area. It still hasn't completely healed and I now have a second smaller opening and am currently taking antibiotics. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I am reading horror stories about what would happen if the device becomes infected.

Hi all! I had my dual chamber PM placed on 3/8/19. I’ve felt flutters and even can feel pacing at night. On 3/19/19 I felt my first “bumping, hopping, shocking” type feeling. It takes my breath; no other symptoms. My entire upper body moves. I’ve heard that PMs can’t shock you but that thrust is just what it feels like however is not painful at all. Anyone else experience this? HR is always between 80s-110s. So far there is no pattern. It happens at random t...

Hello, brand new here. I am 41 years old and have a history of syncope (and seizures in childhood). After many years of no real answers or drs really believing my random symptoms/issues I had a tilt table study to which I passed out and discovered my heart stops and pauses for long periods of time along with my blood pressure dropping drastically as well. Drs initially diagnosed me with neurocardiogenic syncope though my primary Dr says that diagnosis for me is understated and should be "...

Had to see my EP this morning. I have pacemaker syndrome. Settings are placed back to original (been changed way too many times). Down side is I'll be pacing back up high 90%s and echos much more often to monitor heart muscles. But due to my issues with AV node. There was too long of a pause between upper and lower and they just don't sync together. I knew something was not right. Pounding, irregular beats in neck, light headed, headaches etc, shortness of breath..
Any one else h...
