I was very lucky to be in the right place at the right time in November 2017. At hospital for unrelated procedure found out that I was in bad shape and if I had not been at hospital would probably have died quietly at home alone. My blood pressure was very high and my heart rate was very low so within a couple of days I had a Pacemaker to take home with me. Was of course a big surprise but happy to have it.
The day after leaving hospital I was getting what I called “baby kicks” (very strong PVC’s) on left side of chest (just at bottom of ribs). I told everyone - nurses, doctors, lovely lady at Pacer clinic, family and friends, and of course I mentioned it on this forum. I finally saw Cardiologist in July ‘18 . He was doing time in Pacer Clinic that day and I was on his schedule. In October I started getting phone calls from different medical departments setting up appointments - on January 14th went in for Angiogram. Results were good, everything clean, except BP to high and my EF was still low. In ‘17 when I got Pacer was 55%, in July was down to 35, angiogram showed 32.
Had appointment last week with Cardiologist and he is referring me to the Electrophysiologist (?), In mean time more meds and tests. Cardiologist said that I will probably need a synchronization of ventriculas which means a third lead.
My questions now are does that mean a different Pacer to handle 3 leads, do they just attach new lead to existing Pacer, can they use same pocket for Pacer or will it be moved to other side. If anyone has any other questions I should be asking I would appreciate any information. Probably several months before I hear back anything from doctors but I do like to be prepared.
I wish you all good health and happiness,

The thumps are annoying but painless but I'd still like an explanation of why they happen. I hope you get an answer that makes some sense!!

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
Different pacer?

Maybe. It depends on the model they implanted originally. You should have a pacemaker identification card. On it will be the make and model. You can look it up online and see if it's a CRT pacemaker. If so, a new lead and you're all set. If not, it should be a quick change. CRTs are a little larger but there shouldn't be any problem putting it where your current generator is.
